GULF COAST GREEN 2016 SYMPOSIUM AND EXPO – CALL FOR PRESENTERS

Gulf Coast Green 2016 seeks presenters from architecture, interior design, the arts, education, engineering, planning, contracting, energy analysis, and other building-related professions for its April event relevant to the conference theme:

SMART DESIGN: the intersection of art, architecture, and sustainability

This year’s conference will explore how art and the principles of sustainable design can enrich the classic architectural qualities as described by the ancient Roman architect Vitruvius: firmitas, utilitas, and venustas, which roughly translate to durability, utility, and beauty.

Geared toward attendees with an intermediate to high level of knowledge about buildings and sustainability issues, we welcome presentations related to:

 firmitas, including materials, human health, lifecycle perspectives, and structures;  utilitas, including building systems, comfort, and energy and resource use;  venustas, including public art, biomimicry, and site design.

Submissions on other topics related to art, architecture, and sustainability are encouraged and will be categorized as appropriate.
