Francis G. Springer (b. 1839) was a farmer from Cape May County, New Jersey. At the time of the 1860 Census, Springer and his wife, Elizabeth Jane (b. 1841) resided in Port Elizabeth in Cumberland County, where Francis was employed as a ship’s carpenter. He mustered into Company A, 3rd New Jersey Cavalry on 26 January 1864 and mustered out on 1 September 1865 at Washington, D.C. Francis Springer and his family eventually moved to Kansas.
