Lenten Supper – Haddock Chowder The Immaculate Heart of Mary Council of the Knights of Columbus will once again be offering their famous Haddock Chowder Suppers during the Lenten Season this year right here at St. Joseph Maronite Catholic Church. The suppers will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and will feature a large bowl of haddock fish chowder, biscuit, dessert and beverage for a donation of $6.00. Dates: March 22nd.
LENTEN REGULATIONS Abstinence from meat is observed on all the Fridays of Lent by all faithful from the ages of 18 to 65. Fasting from all food and drink (except water and medicine) is to be observed on Great Friday of the Crucifixion. Optional would be the traditional abstinence from meat on Wednesdays. Those who are unable to fast because of ill health must perform other penances and acts of charity.
