What We Are Doing Little Footprints Big Steps focuses its work in three areas: THE NUMBERS Child Well-being and Development (as of Oct 2014) - Literacy, numeracy and vocational learning. A Transitional 94 children united with their families Safehouse for those children who temporarily cannot safely throughout Haiti - 63 from situations of live at home, or do not have a home exploitation and abuse, 31 from the - Protection and healing of children victimized by abuse, streets neglect, exploitation & homelessness 18 children provided with refuge, healing and growth in our safehouses Family and Community Development 9 Haitian staff employed by Little - Outreach program helps families receive the training and Footprints Big Steps resources they need to begin a sustainable source of income such as in farming, animal husbandry or a trade. 6 tutors hired part-time in various communities across Haiti, tutoring over - Education and opportunity for self-sufficiency and sound 40 children. housing helps break the cycle of poverty, poor health, abandonment in Haiti by helping build strong families & 12 families still need help building or communities and keeping families together. renting a home
Advocacy of Child Rights 170 children supported for basic education - collaboration with local authorities and media to take a stand for the rights of children and parents

- Work with victims of abuse to find their voice to speak out We are a registered Canadian Charitable Society with an international board of directors and a Haitian Advisory Committee. We collaborate with local initiatives as much as possible to help foster capacity and build sustainability.

Any sponsorship funds we receive go directly to a child or family for specific items. With your help we can empower families to prevent child abandonment and neglect. Funds are needed for: The Costs Tutors and Tuition – Education is critical for a child’s success in school and beyond. Tuition fees in turn fund local schools to build their $10 buys a chicken capacity. Tutoring helps ensure children can participate in school and is an opportunity for employment for a member of the community. $12 buys a small backpack for a child
Homes – Many families need help with rent or building materials for their homes, some of which were damaged by Hurricane Isaac, or have $20 provides school books for a child for a year not existed since the 2010 earthquake.
Training and resources – A sustainable source of income for families $25 hires a personal tutor for a month can be achieved through, purchasing farming animals for them (i.e. goats, chickens).
