Caraniche provides services across seven major areas of specialization: 1. Clinical Services: Caraniche specialises in the provision of complex psychological assessments, report-writing, counselling, clinical supervision and related services to both individual and organisational clients. 2. Workplace Services: Caraniche provides Employee Assistance Counselling, Critical Incident Stress Management, facilitation, coaching, and related services to organisations, government departments and workplaces. 3. Juvenile Justice: As part of the YHARS consortium, Caraniche is contracted to deliver rehabilitation services for young offenders on behalf of the Department of Human Services. These services are delivered in Youth justice precincts and the community. Services include the delivery of the MAPPS and AVIP group based treatment programs, assessment, individual counseling, trauma counseling and support. 4. Adult Corrections: Caraniche is contracted by Justice Health to provide Forensic Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services to seven public prisons across Victoria. Services include: assessment, individual counselling, group therapy, residential treatment and a modified therapeutic community program. 5. Community: Caraniche provides individual and group interventions, including therapeutic counselling for people with alcohol and other drug-related problems, and psycho-educational alcohol related violence programs. 6. Research and Professional Practice (RPP): Caraniche’s research division supports and evaluates all our service delivery and oversights our QA processes. In addition, RPP provides specialist research and program evaluation services to government departments, the health and welfare AOD sector, local government and external organisations.

Training: Caraniche shares its organisational expertise and the individual expertise of its staff. Caraniche operates a public training calendar as well as providing customised training to a range of organisations and peak bodies.
1. Purpose of the Role
Located within the Training & Workplace Services (TWS) team and reporting to the TWS Manager, the Training Coordinator will play a key role in guiding the strategic direction of the training unit through business development initiatives, developing, reviewing and quality assuring training packages, and facilitating the continuous improvement of training products, systems and processes. In addition to training and presentation delivery, both full day workshops and short information / wellness sessions, the Training Coordinator will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective relationships with and providing feedback and recommendations to both contract stakeholders and Caraniche Trainers. The Training Coordinator will work alongside a team of highly skilled and experienced trainers and will be responsible for overseeing a Training Officer. Travel to other Caraniche offices and locations may be required.
2. Responsibilities
Responsibility 1: In collaboration with the TWS manager, provide strategic direction for and continuous improvement of the Caraniche training unit Target/Expectations Identify growth opportunities for the Caraniche training unit Develop short and long term growth strategies for development Support the development of new training courses in line with strategic direction Review and quality assure existing training course material Support TWS Manager in contract management activities Support the TWS Manager to recruit trainers Review and quality assure training unit effectiveness including existing training course material, modes of delivery, equipment, trainer facilitation, presentation and modes of delivery Continuously improve systems and processes to record enrolment, monitor waitlists and keep track of training activity
Responsibility 2: Customer Relations / Business Development Target/Expectations Develop and maintain customer relationships to a high standard Respond to customised enquiries and training requests Prepare proposals in response to requests for training; including the upselling of other training topics Delivery of presentations prior to and following proposal submissions Attendance at internal and external training meetings Maintain the business development register and prepare reports on a weekly basis Position Description for: Training Coordinator Responsibility 3: Training Unit Coordination Target/Expectations Identify and coordinate trainers for development and/or delivery of training packages Provide operational and/or clinical instructions and support to trainers in the lead up to and during training delivery Oversee the Training Officer and administrative team to prepare training materials and supporting documentation (including attendance registers, certificates and evaluation forms), audio-visual equipment, and liaison with external venues and caterers Coordinate the evaluation process and provide verbal and written feedback and recommendations to customers and Caraniche trainers Ensure trainers complete all required administrative tasks Liaise with Caraniche Finance team regarding registrations, invoicing and credits Report performance of the training unit to TWS manager on a monthly basis
Responsibility 4: Product Marketing (Customer specific) Target/Expectations Promote other areas of business and upsell in quotes where appropriate Oversee Training Officer to market training courses, including: o preparing the half-yearly training calendar o preparing training promotional materials including flyers o advertising upcoming training sessions o maintaining the Training Marketing Database o maintaining Training Contacts o maintaining Training pages of Caraniche website
Responsibility 5: Delivery Target/ Expectations Delivery of training workshops, information and wellness sessions in area of expertise
Responsibility 6: Training Support to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT): Target/Expectations Assist the HR manager with internal staff training days (including induction programs) in accordance with SLT directions when required Assist SLT members with other training activities when required in accordance with SLT directions Undertake other specific projects as required.
3. Relationships
With: Purpose Position Description for: Training Coordinator TWS Manager Directly accountable to the TWS Manager. Ensures that the Team Manager is well informed about services provided, workload, risks and concerns. Training Officer Supervise Training Officer and admin staff in relation to training services. Trainers Liaise with trainers as part of review, development and delivery of training services.
Customers Liaise with customers regarding enquires and training delivery, including feedback and recommendations.
4. Position Criteria
Essential 1* Background in Psychology, Social Work or related discipline 2* Appropriate qualification and demonstrated experience in coordinating training programs 3* Demonstrated experience in training delivery and/or development 4* Excellent administration skills 5* High level of interpersonal skills 6* Excellent communication skills 7* Ability to work both autonomously and as a member of a team 8* Police check 9* Driver’s Licence and motor vehicle 10* English Language Competency
Preferred 11* Understanding of technological solutions including platforms such as Eventbrite and CRM software
