ATHLETICS: Congratulations to Lady Vipers Soccer Team who will playing tomorrow Thursday, April 16th at 12 noon in Georgetown in the State Semi Finals vs. College Station. Game Tickets at gate are $5. Student Spirit Bus available for $5 - Sign-up in Front Office – Seats Limited

Football, Cheer, Basketball, Cross Country, Soccer, Track & Field, Tennis, Swim, Lacrosse, Dance, Volleyball...Calling all Vipers! Clean out your garages and closets now and please donate your new and gently used sports gear and equipment April 6 - April 15 here at Vandegrift High School. Collection boxes are located near the front office, cafeteria and athletic hallway. Donated items will be sold Saturday, April 18 at the Steiner Ranch Garage Sale from 8am-12pm. All proceeds from this ASO fundraising effort will benefit families of teenage athletes fighting disease and needing financial assistance.

SENIORS: Please pick up your Balfour Invitations and other items you ordered from the Front Office. EXCEPT CAPS & GOWNS which will be given out at the Graduation Rehearsal on June 3rd after Senior Breakfast. Other orders will be coming soon.

EVENTS: The annual Students vs. Faculty Basketball Game will be on Friday, April 17th during PIT at the end of the school day. Wristbands will be sold during lunches the week of the game for $5 that allow you leave PIT and go to the game. The FCA sponsored event will donate half of the proceeds to Relay for Life!

VHS 5th Annual Relay for Life is this Friday, April 17th, 2015 from 6pm – 2am at the Monroe Stadium celebrating cancer survivors, remembering those we have lost, and joining those currently fighting back against cancer. The Survivor Walk is at 6:00pm; there will be food, games, and live music. The Luminaria Ceremony is at 9:00pm remembering those we have lost to cancer; also honor a friend/family with a $5 donation for a personalized luminaria lit at dusk at Monroe Stadium. There is a Nationwide ACT testing that will be held at VHS Campus on Saturday, April 18th 2015.

PEP RALLY – To recognize all of our State Championship Programs and Student Competitors. Parents are welcome to attend. What: State Celebration Pep Rally Where: Monroe Stadium When: April 27th at 11:40am (During PIT)

CPR/AED CERTIFICATION - Is your student interested in baby-sitting or life-guarding? Then sign them up to learn the essentials of saving a life! Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 9:00-12:30pm in the Leander High School Little Theater. The LHS PTSA has partnered with Response: CRITICAL Training Solutions and a portion of the proceeds benefits the LHS PTSA. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive a course completion card valid for 2 years. This course is open to everyone, students and adults. Cost $40.

What is VIPERPALOOZA? Viperpalooza is a tradition that began in 2010, is a fun-filled event that includes community involvement, games, food, and activities which culminate in the VHS Spring Football game. The purpose of Viperpalooza is to raise money for the Vandegrift High School Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA), booster clubs, and student organizations. This year we are thrilled to announce the 5th Annual Viperpalooza. This is a great opportunity for our community to come out and support, meet, and celebrate the coaches, directors, teachers, students and student athletes of V.H.S. COME FOR THE CARNIVAL • Games for all ages: (carnival, bungee jump, hamster ball, bouncy house, Kiddie Corner etc.) • Food and Drinks (Hat Creek Burger, Cups & Cones, Funnel Cakes and more…. • Special Attractions and Community Vendors • Silent Auction • Live Performances by VHS Viper Band and Legacies • Viper Spirit Wear for sale. STAY FOR THE GAME! Football Scrimmage with VHS Varsity Viper Football & Celebration of Champions!! 7:20 pm Celebration of our State Champions: TBD 7:30 pm VHS Viper Football Scrimmage Kick Off "Glory Days" scrimmage at half time (Current & Past Football dads relive past glory) And much, much more…….! We hope you can join us for this fun filled day! YOU CAN BE INVOLVED BY SPONSORING A VENDOR/TABLE OR BY PROVIDING AN ACTIVITY. Viperpalooza will be held at Vandegrift High School and Monroe Stadium Complex on Friday, May 29th from 5pm – 9pm.

PIT/CLUBS: If you recently submitted an application to join the Vandegrift National Honor Society, you may pick up your result letter at 3:45P on Friday, April 17th in Ms. Koble's Room 1356.

FCA leadership applications are now available through Coach McClain! If you are interested in being a part of the FCA Leadership team for next year, come by his classroom 1353 and submit your application before April 24th!

Volunteers - please register or reactivate your Volunteer Application for the 2014-2015 with the District which has to be done every year! Please make sure that if you volunteer at more than one school - you will need to click on all of the schools that you will be volunteering at! Volunteers can go to the District Link at: https://volunteer.leanderisd.org/ and click on "Returning Volunteer" or "New Volunteer" to submit you application.

Bus and Bus Pass Information: to know your bus number and bus times go online to the Leander Web Site www.leanderisd.org – under Quick Links click on “Bus Information” which will take you to “infofinder i” – put in your address and zip code – search, then click on “My Bus Stop” for Bus number and times for VHS. All students need a Bus Pass to get on a different Bus or even get off at a different stop on their regular bus and will need parent permission.

Parking: All students that wish to park in the School Parking Lot need a Parking Permit that has to be displayed in their car at all times. Failure to do so results in a Parking Fine. To get your Parking Permit you need to fill out the Parking Application (found on-line or in the Attendance or AP Offices’), have your Driving License, Vehicle Insurance and $40 which you will turn into Ms. Rasmussen in the Attendance Office.

VOE: If you are learning to drive you will need a VOE (Verification of Enrollment) to take to DPS (Department of Public Safety) – in fact you will need a VOE anytime you go to DPS until you are 18 years old. To get a VOE you must go online to our VHS Web Page; go to the tab – “Parent/Student Resources” then go to “Forms” and click on “Request Verification of Attendance (VOE) Form then fill it out and press SUBMIT. You can pick up your VOE from Ms. Rasmussen in the Attendance Office 24 hours later. Vipers: Know of "SUSPECT" Activity going on in our Campus? You have a Duty to Act! Report suspicious activity (drugs, bullying, weapons, and tobacco) to campus “Crime Stoppers” and your anonymous tip can earn you a cash reward! The Crime Stoppers phone # is: 512.499.8477

Lost + Found for Bldg. 1 is in the Front Office if you are looking for car keys, jewelry, water cups/bottles, lunch boxes and clothes etc. All items will go to the Clothes Closet on the last day of school.
