“What’s In Your Bag?” Speech Purpose: 1. Introduce yourself to the teacher and the class in your own way 2. Practice speaking in front of your peers

Directions: 1. Find three objects that represent you (ex. a baseball if you play baseball, a swim cap if you are a swimmer) - cell phones, wallets, and school supplies are not allowed, sorry! 2. Decide reasons those objects represent you. 3. Decide on a quote or mantra that you live your life by. Explain the quote and what it means to you. 4. Produce a short speech for the class which must include: a. Your name b. Background information about yourself (this is where you can extend your time) c. Your three objects and how/why they represent you d. Your quote 5. Note cards are not required but HIGHLY recommended for your first speech.
