Policy on Safety Helmets
1) Following color-code will be followed across The TATA Power Co Ltd
1. Yellow Colour…….. For Tata Power Company Ltd. employees
2. White Colour ……… For Visitors / VIPs
3. Blue Colour ……. For Contractors
4. Green Colour …… For Safety Officers / Safety Stewards
5. Red Colour … …. For Fire department employees
1) The safety helmets of approved design and Quality by Head -corporate safety should be used. The helmets will conform to IS: 2925 2) The colour code as described above will be followed at all times. However in case of non availability of any particular coloured helmet the person entering the operational area must wear other safety helmet irrespective of the colour available 3) The useful life of safety helmet will be three years from the date of manufacture. ( Date is embossed on the safety helmet by the Mfgr) 4) On the expiry of the date, the safety helmet will be discarded and returned to stores who will arrange to dispose off the same. 5) If the safety helmet is hit by falling object with significant impact, then the safety helmet will be discarded even if there is no sign of damage and returned to stores. A fresh new Safety helmet will be issued to the concerned person against the old one. 6) All the persons who are issued safety helmet are required to take proper care of their safety helmet. ( Cleanliness and condition of the safety helmet parts ) Safety helmet should not be thrown or dropped at any time. 7) There will be 10 Safety helmets kept at the entrance to the Operational areas for visitors / VIP’s. 8) Visitors will be issued a thin tissue paper for using inside the safety helmet to maintain hygienic conditions. 9) Logo of TATA Power will be displayed at the front of the safety helmet. 10) Chin strap of the safety helmet should be in place and used while wearing the helmet. 11) All concerned employees, contractors and visitors must use / wear Safety helmets while inside the operational areas.
