Registration Registration materials can be picked-up in the central lobby of the Celeste Center. Registration hours are 8:00 A.M.-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 30, 2015; and 8:00 A.M.-8:00 P.M. on Friday, May 1, 2015. Admission Buttons Entrance buttons must be worn at all times. The Ohio Highway State Patrol will be enforcing that all individuals in attendance must be wearing admission buttons at all times. Furthermore, FFA members must wear FFA member buttons and advisors/adults/guests must wear adult buttons. Unfortunately, there has been an increased abuse of this policy in recent years that results in a loss of revenue for the association, not to mention the ethical lesson being witnessed by students. Admission costs are $25.00/member and $7.00/advisor/parents/chaperones/other guests. FFA Convention Expo-Bricker Building Visit the new Ohio FFA Convention Expo in our new venue, the Bricker Building. The Convention Expo will house our Career/Trade Show, Alumni shopping Mall, workshop areas, Agriscience Fair, Proficiency Finalists, Ohio FFA Camp Games, livestock demonstrations, talent stage and food court. Parking If you ordered a parking pass when registering online by April 12th, a parking pass token will be mailed on Thursday, April 16th. Upon entering the Ohio Expo Center from 17th Avenue, exchange your parking pass token for a two-day parking pass from the Central Parking employee in one of the booths. This pass will allow you to enter and exit the Ohio Expo Center grounds on an unlimited basis. This pass, as well as single admission parking passes, can be purchased on-site at one of the Central Parking booths (cash only accepted at booths). As a reminder, school buses are admitted free. Exiting the Ohio Expo There is new construction going on at the Fairgrounds. When you exit the parking lot, you will probably be exiting onto 11th Avenue versus 17th Avenue as in the past. There will be signs posted to direct you to the correct exit. State FFA Degree Candidates All candidates for the State FFA Degree must wear official dress to appear on the convention stage. Candidates should be in their seats (seating charts will be enclosed in your registration packets) by 6:00 P.M. on Friday, May 1, 2015. Candidates not in attendance will have their State FFA Degrees distributed to their teachers at Summer Teachers Conference or Fall District Meetings. Ohio FFA Officer Candidates State President Sydney Snider will be announcing the FFA members that have been slated on the ballot at the conclusion of the First Session. There will be reserved seats for all officer candidates. The election of officers will take place immediately thereafter as we transition to the Business Session. There will be reserved seats for all delegates during the Business Session. Officer Awards All Gold medal Secretaries, Treasurers, and Reporters will receive their medal on stage and must wear official dress. Award recipients should be in their seats (seating charts will be enclosed in your registration packets) by 2:45 PM on Friday, May 1, 2015. Workshops Workshops will be offered to FFA members, FFA advisors, and guests throughout the convention. Admission to workshops is included with the purchase of an individual registration. Seating is limited and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please refer to your convention program for the date, time, and location of the workshops. FREE Livestock Clinics Weaver Leather Livestock, Purina HSC, and Heritage Cooperative would like to invite you and your students to come and experience livestock clinics on Friday, May 1 from 12 pm-1 pm, 1pm- 2 pm in the Bricker Building. Clinics offered will be Swine Showmanship, Sheep Fitting, Swine Show Day Preparation, and Goat Fitting. FFA Camp Games Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum would like to invite you and your students to come and experience the Ohio FFA Camp Games at this years State FFA Convention. The FFA Camp activities will be happening in the Bricker Building. The FFA Camp Games will be open on Thursday,12:00 noon – 2:00 pm and on Friday, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. Meals A food court is located at the new Ohio FFA Convention Expo in our new venue, the Bricker Building. Concession stands are also located inside the Celeste Center. Band and Chorus Practice for both Band and Chorus will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2015. The Band and Chorus will be playing on Friday only. It is imperative that all Band and Chorus members stay for the duration of the Friday convention performances. Personal Belongings in Vehicles Please make sure you do not leave personal belongings, ie. money, ipods, ipads, cell phones, etc. in vehicles during convention as there have been recent break-ins of vehicles on the state fairgrounds during large events/conventions.
