FORT WORTH/TARRANT COUNTY AGGIE MOMS’ CLUB SCHOLARSHIP 2017-2018 SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICANTS
PURPOSE: The Fort Worth/Tarrant County (FWTC) Aggie Moms’ Club Scholarship program seeks to recognize and reward students who are: proficient in academics involved in purposeful activities outside of the classroom with emphasis on campus-based organizations, volunteerism, leadership, employment and service
ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must: 1. be a full-time undergraduate student or a graduating high school senior during the 2015-2016 school year; 2. reside in Tarrant County or an adjacent county which is not currently represented by an A&M Mothers’ Club; undergraduate students must maintain their permanent address in Tarrant County; 3. meet the academic requirements established by Texas A&M University complete at least 18 hours in the academic year (Fall-Spring) maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA remain in “good standing” with the University at the time of disbursement of scholarship funds, i.e., may not be on conduct or academic probation; 4. not have a relative on the Scholarship Committee which determines the recipients; and 5. submit a new application each year they wish to be considered for a scholarship.
APPLICATION PROCESS: Complete the attached application in full; resumes will not be accepted in lieu of the application. Checklist must be submitted. All documents listed on the attached CHECKLIST must be submitted. All documents listed on the attached CHECKLIST must be submitted in ONE ENVELOPE post-marked directly to the Scholarship Chairperson on or before the posted deadline. Incomplete, late, and emailed applications/documents will not be considered. Typed applications preferred. Illegible applications will not be processed. Confirmation of receipt of scholarship application will be mailed to applicants if a self-addressed, stamped envelope is submitted with the scholarship application. Must be from school Registrar and sealed in its own envelope, with Registrar’s signature across the seal; d. Must be enclosed with the application documents in one large envelope/package.
Letters of Recommendation: Provide two (2) Letters of Recommendation (only) a. One (1) Academic Letter of Recommendation from a teacher, advisor, or other educator who knows applicant in the school setting b. One (1) Personal Letter of Recommendation from someone outside of school (employer, clergy, community leader, volunteer coordinator, etc.) who can attest to your integrity, leadership, work ethic, character, etc. c. Letters from immediate family members or other relatives will not be accepted. d. The author must include his/her name, title, relationship to applicant, address and/or email address, phone number, and how long he/she has known the applicant. e. Each letter must be in a sealed envelope with the author’s original signature written across the seal of the envelope f. Sealed letters must be enclosed with the application documents in one large envelope.
