Go to the Home Tab where you’ll see buttons that perform formatting on your document. For example, the Bold button makes the text bold or you can change the font color and size. In the Paragraph section you can align the text to the center, left or right, add bullets, or sort.

Page Layout Page margins are the blank spaces around the edges of the page. The default is Normal, 1” margins. To get narrower margins, you would click Narrow. If you want the left and right margins to be much wider, click Wide.

Basics of Entering Text The screen display is basically how the text will look when it prints. Word uses text wrap – when text do es not fit on a line, it automatically flows to the beginning of the next line. Use the ENTER KEY to: -end a short line, - start a new paragraph, - create a blank line

Spelling & Grammar Check As you type, Spelling & Grammar Check automatically underlines misspelled words and grammar errors.

 A red wavy line indicates a misspelled word.  A green wavy line indicates a grammar error.  To Correct Individual Spelling and Grammar Errors:  Right click the underlined word(s).  A list of suggested corrections will be displayed.  Click on the desired correction. To Correct an Entire Document:  Go to Review Tab, then Spelling and Grammar button

WFA Technology Assignment #3 Word Formatting – bullets, page borders, wordart, Directions: Type the silly laws document exactly as shown in a new Microsoft Word document using bullets, word art and a page border. Follow the steps below:

WFA Technology Assignment #4 Table Tools – Design Tab Tables

Creating Tables  Tables consist of vertical columns and horizontal rows. Where a column and row meet is called a Cell. Use the TAB key to move from cell to cell.  To add an extra row hit TAB at the end of the table. OR Go to the Layout Tab, Choose Insert Column or Row  To delete an unwanted column or row, highlight it, go to the Layout Tab, Choose Delete row or column
