Job Title: eNewsletter Editor/Content Manager

Responsible to: Director

Location: Ocean Park House, East Tyndall Street, Cardiff, CF24 5ET

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £25–30K

Main purpose of role:

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to take overall responsibility for the curation of LMW’s news posts onto the LMW website and the preparation of a weekly eNews Digest and monthly eBulletin. This will involve the sourcing of relevant leadership and management related content, editorial input to decide what is considered ‘newsworthy’ and ‘relevant’, producing copy to summarise the article, posting the summary onto the LMW website, as well as the preparation and sending of the eNews Digest and eBulletin.

This is a busy role and is critical to the future success of LMW. The successful candidate will be a self- starter who is able to organise their own work and progress under their own initiative whilst meeting tight deadlines.

Key duties and responsibilities: (to include but not limited to)

 Researching, collating, editing, composing and sending the weekly e-based News digest which will involve the following activities:

o Monitoring a variety of sources each day for potential leadership and management related news items

o Reading potential articles to assess their suitability to be included on the LMW website

o Writing brief summaries of suitable articles to be posted onto the LMW website

o Posting of the articles onto the LMW website

o At the end of each week, choosing between 5-10 “top” items to be included in the weekly eNews Digest

o Preparing, testing and sending the weekly eNews Digest

 Researching, collating, editing, composing and sending out the monthly themed eBulletin which will involve the following activities: o Sourcing a variety of content, articles, tools and resources related to the monthly leadership theme

o Assessing the suitability of proposed content

o Writing brief summaries of suitable content to be posted onto the LMW website

o Posting of summaries onto the LMW website

o Preparing, testing and sending the monthly eBulletin

 Liaising with guest editors to create relevant guest articles and features

 Liaising with marketing to provide teasers and samples of free content to drive traffic

 Listening to customers’ needs and requirements and recommending ways in which we can improve the weekly eNews Digest and monthly eBulletin to ensure they are the best they possibly can be

Person specification:

 Previous experience as an editor or of putting together newsletters would be ideal

 Ability to quickly assess information for relevance and the confidence to make editorial decisions relating to “top” articles for inclusion

 Excellent copywriting skills and knowledge of the English language

 Accuracy and attention to detail is essential

 Good IT skills

 Ability to prioritise effectively, multi-task and handle a busy workload in a calm and professional manner and must be able to work to tight deadlines

 Proactive team player who uses own initiative, proactively anticipates needs and acts accordingly

 Must be willing to ‘muck in’ where necessary

 An interest in leadership and management development would be an advantage

Desirable skills include: (although full training will be provided)

 Experience of using Salesforce or a similar CRM system
