MAKING AN IMPACT

Welcome to the Tanger Internship and Management Training Program to Acquire Collegiate Talent (IMPACT) Program. The Tanger IMPACT Program is a professional development program that offers college, business school students and recent college graduates day-to-day experience in marketing and operating a retail outlet shopping center. Currently, the Tanger IMPACT recruit’s training is concentrated in the areas of Marketing, Operations and Leasing, with emphasis on training programs that will generate additional income for the specific center location, while providing hands on industry experience for the candidate.

Requirements for IMPACT candidates are as follows:

 Candidate must either be currently enrolled in a state accredited college or university and maintain a 2.5 GPA or a recent graduate. Candidates working toward or having obtained degrees in Marketing or Business Administration are preferred. Other degrees to be considered include Communications, Public Relations or Fashion Merchandising  Candidate must submit a current resume, complete an application and will be required to interview with the center management teams and the Internship Director.  Candidate will be required to pass all company background checks and will be expected to adhere to all established and documented company policies and procedures.  If internship is resulting in additional college credits, candidate will commit to a predetermined work schedule based on the number of hours required to receive college credit.

IMPACT PROGRAM  Intern must be able to complete IMPACT program at one of the following locations unless approved or requested by Regional Manager, AVP of Operations or VP of Operations:

 Missouri - Branson Alabama - Foley Michigan - Howell and West Branch Iowa – Williamsburg  Texas – San Marcos New York-Riverhead Utah - Park City Illinois – Tuscola

IMPACT PROGRAM BENEFITS IMPACT PROGRAM  Candidate will work in a fluid and fast-paced environment, acquiring industry related skills from experienced management professionals.

 Candidate will become part of the center management team where individual accomplishments are valued as an integral part of the teamwork philosophy.

 Acquire skills on how to create, implement and manage marketing and operations programs that provide financial growth for the company.

 Make industry contacts through networking opportunities.

 Candidates who successfully complete the program will be considered for an Associate Assistant General Manager position in the Tanger Management Training Program (Career Placement Opportunity).

Internships are available year-round to give candidate more flexibility with their college schedule. IMPACT PROGRAM

Center Guidelines

Assigning the IMPACT Program (San Marcos will focus on Marketing but will expose candidate to all programs)  Review the approved IMPACT programs and determine which approved program would best suit the needs of the center and the strengths of the candidate.  Set quantifiable goals and work with candidate to create tactics that will achieve goals.  Create the project initiatives on the form provided and once they are agreed upon by both the Intern and the management team upload the document to your center site under shared documents. Instruct the student to keep this document updated as it will be viewed by multiple team members and serves as a living journal of their accomplishments.

Management of IMPACT Program  Meet weekly to discuss progress and priorities.  Determine if goals need to be adjusted if circumstances warrant.  Complete required 30/60/90 Day Evaluations, forward to internship director and department AVP.  Expose intern to company on a larger scale, allowing intern to shadow other team members if possible.

Evaluation of IMPACT Program  At the end of the internship period, request a list of accomplishments from candidate; use in final evaluation for candidate.  Have candidate complete IMPACT Review: Candidate Summary. Review comments with internship director and department AVP. IMPACT PROGRAM

IMPACT PROGRAM EVALUATION IMPACT PROGRAM

Candidates will be evaluated monthly by the on-site General Manager, with the evaluation reviewed by the Internship Director and department Assistant Vice President. At the end of the internship period, the candidate will be asked to provide a list of accomplishments to the on-site General Manager along with the completed Strategic Initiatives Documentation; accomplishments will be used in the candidate’s final performance evaluation and IMPACT program summary.

In addition to the final performance evaluation, the candidate will provide an evaluation of the IMPACT program, providing recommendations on how the program can be improved.
