The Sunday Walking Group Newsletter

DECEMBER 2017

LETTER FROM THE CHAIRMAN Welcome to the December Newsletter. It's chilly outside, you may have noticed. To celebrate what's great about the colder weather, we have organised some cockle-warming walks, that are just perfect for frosty days. We begin this month’s festive walks at Burton-in-Kendal, where I have tracked down a pleasant walk with views across the Lake District. Next up; Arian and Sandra have invited us to join them on their Christmas tinsel walk around the seasonal Entwistle reservoirs where hot mulled wine, mince pies and cream scones will be on offer to compliment your lunch. Adrian will lead a pretty walk around Grassington on Sunday17th December. The final SWG walk for 2017 will be led by Peter, who plans to take us to Nicky Nook from Scorton on Tuesday 26th December. Just in time for Christmas, the 2018 SWG photo Wall Calendars are now available and once again the cost will be just £6 each. I look forward to celebrating with you at the SWG Christmas party at Shaw Hill on Saturday 16th December; and finally, I would like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year! Cheers and Happy walking! Derek Harper, Chairman. FORTHCOMING WALKS All walks start at 10.30am (unless otherwise stated)  Grading: * Easy ***** Hard walk with climbing
