COURSE OF STUDY OUTLINE

COMPUTER APPLICATIONS FOR BUSINESS

Shop Practice

Grade 12

Proficiencies:

Upon completion of the twelfth grade level of the Computer Applications for Business course, having been given the necessary tools, equipment, and instruction, students should be able to meet the following proficiencies:

1. Work safely to prevent accidents by observing school and shop safety rules.

2. Demonstrate habits of good shop maintenance, cleaning, and sanitation.

3. Demonstrate speed and accuracy in keyboarding and in the operation of computers.

4. Practice the technique of careful examination of work in order to develop pride in work and professionalism in the field.

5. Produce mailable output from unarranged documents utilizing any current computer.

6. Practice computer skills and develop desirable work attitudes in a flow-of-work model simulation and other computer integrated projects.

7. Demonstrate proficiency in the basic skills and a knowledge of the principles of in computer technology so as to be prepared for a cooperative work experience (CE) during the senior year and be prepared for employment and/or advanced training upon graduation.

8. Demonstrate skills at computer to prepare for MOS Certification and/or SOCAT Testing with 80% or better.
