1Make the following Section a part of the Standard Specification: 2 3 “SECTION 695 - CELLULAR PHONE 4 5695.01 Description. This work includes furnishing cellular phone service for 6the Engineer. 7 8695.02 General Requirements. The Contractor shall: 9 10 (A) Cellular Phone(s). 11 12 (1) Furnish and establish service for ____ cellular 13 phone(s) for use by the Engineer. Each phone shall: 14 15 (a) Include two batteries, each rated by the manufacturer 16 as providing a minimum of 4 hours continuous talk time or 40 17 hours of stand-by time; 18 19 (b) Have voice mail capability, and vibrate mode when 20 called; 21 22 (c) Have a maximum weight of 10 ounces; 23 24 (c) Include desktop rapid charger; vehicle charger, 25 hands-free cellular phone headset, microphone and holder; 26 27 (d) Be attached to a belt or included with a carrying case; 28 29 (2) Obtain phone service from a cellular phone company that 30 provides the strongest signal within the project area for the 31 particular phone provided; 32 33 (3) Provide a payment plan for at least 1,200 “anytime minutes”; 34 and 35 36 (4) Provide an itemized billing to the County which includes the 37 initial utility cost, .monthly utility billing, and disconnection cost 38 39 (5) Provide a replacement cellular phone at no increase in 40 contract price and contract time within two working days whenever 41 the cellular phone provided to the Engineer is damaged or 42 inoperable. 43 44 (6) Provide the cellular phone and phone service for the period 45 beginning one week prior to the Notice to Proceed date and ending 46 one week after final acceptance of the project. At that time, the 47 cellular phone(s) shall become the property of the Contractor. 48 1 (Project No.) 2 695-1a 10/10/07 49 (B) Cellular Phone Additional Charge. The Contractor shall bill the 50 Engineer for the additional charges incurred in excess of 1,200 minutes for 51 a given cellular phone. Submit the phone company’s invoice along with 52 the itemized listing of all phone calls to the Engineer.. 53 54695.03 Measurement. 55 56 (A) Cellular phone(s) will be paid on a lump sum basis. 57 Measurement for payment will not apply. 58 59 (B) The Engineer will measure cellular phone additional charges on a 60 force account basis in accordance with Subsection 109.06 - Force 61 Account Provisions and Compensation and as ordered by the Engineer. 62 63695.04 Payment. The Engineer will pay for the accepted pay items listed 64below at the contract price per pay unit. Payment will be full compensation for 65the work prescribed in this section, as ordered by the Engineer, and the contract 66documentation. 67 68The Engineer will pay for each of the following pay items 69 70 Pay Item Pay Unit 71 72____ Cellular Phone(s) (Not to Exceed $______) Lump Sum 73 74The maximum bid allowable for ___ cellular phones is $______. If the 75proposal submitted by the bidder indicates an amount over the allowable 76maximum, the indicated amount will be reduced to the allowable maximum and 77the ‘Sum of All Items’ in the proposal schedule will be adjusted to reflect any 78such reduction. For the purposes of comparing bids and determining the 79contract price to be inserted in the contract awarded to the bidder, if any is so 80awarded, the ‘Sum of All Items’ adjusted in accordance with the foregoing shall 81be used and the bidder’s proposal shall be deemed to have been submitted for 82the amount as reduced and adjusted as per contract. 83 84Cellular Phone Additional Charges Force Account” 85 86An estimated amount for the force account is allocated in the proposal schedule 87under ‘Cellular Phone Additional Charges’, but the actual amount to be paid will 88be the sum shown on the accepted force account records, whether this sum be 89more or less than the estimated amount allocated in the Proposal Schedule.” 90 91 END OF SECTION 695
