Library Membership for Community Based Organisations

Community Based Organisations (CBO’s) are welcome to join the East Gippsland Shire Library. The guidelines for this membership type are below:

WHO CAN JOIN?

. Community Based Organisations may join the East Gippsland Shire Library at the discretion of the Community Library Coordinator. . Organisational membership is not available to businesses. . Membership is bound by the conditions set out in this document and the library’s individual Terms and Conditions of Membership. . Particular note should be made of the conditions regarding membership cards and the process for lost/damaged items. . Organisational membership is available to pre-schools, childcare centres, nursing homes etc. . To be approved for membership, CBO’s must operate within the East Gippsland Shire’s boundaries.

HOW DO WE JOIN? . A membership form must be completed . The form must be accompanied by a letter on letterhead (or with CBO stamp). . The letter must contain the name, job title and signature of the CBO Coordinator or Manager. . The letter should contain the name/s of the nominated person/s authorised to borrow items for the organisation. . A maximum of 2 people may be elected to borrow on behalf of the organisation. . Membership cards will be assigned to the Organisation with the nominated person/s listed as a Guarantor. . Organisational membership is renewed annually each January. . At the time of renewal, the organisation is required to update membership details, including the names of the nominated borrowers. This information must be confirmed by a letter from the CBO Coordinator or Manager. . CBOs are responsible for payment of lost or damaged items.

WHAT CAN WE BORROW? . A maximum of 20 items may be borrowed . The maximum loan period is 28 days. . Copyright restrictions on public screening of DVD’s and videos prevent the issue of this material . Loans may be renewed in accordance with general membership conditions. . Overdue fines accrue if items are returned after the due date.
