1. A mortuary load body to be constructed and fitted onto 4x4 chassis cab LDV. …………………………

2. MORTUARY LOAD BODY

2.1 The existing load body needs to be removed and the constructed mortuary body fitted directly to the chassis......

2.2 The entire body to be manufactured from suitable Aluminium Extrusions (Grade 6063) and Aluminium plate (Grade 120044) ......

2.3 The entire Aluminium frame, Tail panel, Floor, Internal Partitions, Storage areas, Door frames and related items to be jointed by ...... fusion welding method GMAN or GTAW.

2.4 All Aluminium body exterior, Gutter, Front, Rear roof and Side panels are to be bonded onto a main frame using a one component UV resistant high modules Polyurethane based ...... adhesive

2.5 Prior to assembly, all components are to be suitably prepared and correctly pre primed to discourage corrosion and promote 2 adhesion ......

2.6 The construction of the body must be undertaken in such a way as to provide a integrally constructed body consisting of a fully welded main body frame, floor and under frame with unstressed external panelling …………………………

2.7 The main body frame must be of sufficient strength to bear the load imposed on it by the cadaver lifting equipment fitted within each side of the upper deck......

2.8 A Flexible MV mounting system is to be employed in mounting of the MV body onto the vehicle chassis. No modification to the vehicles chassis is permitted in affecting the body mounting ...... process.

2.9 The entire body must be of sufficient substance as to withstand disintegration in the event off a rollover accident...... 2.10 No internal water taps are acceptable within both decks of the body......

2.11 Provision must be made for a full drain to allow for the washing of vehicles inside. (hose out of vehicles) ......

4. GENERAL BODY ARRANGEMENT

4.1 The general arrangements of the mortuary body shall consist of a upper and lower deck which can store four human bodies ...... UPPER DECK 3 4.2 Upper deck doors to be fitted to the L/H and R/H sides …………………………

STORAGE AREA

.4.4 Forward and within the lower deck ahead of the cadaver containment area, a full width x height partition is located ...... effectively portioning the lower deck into 3 areas.

4.4.2 The dimensions for the storage area is 1700 (length) x 250 (width) x 450 (height) ......

4.4.3 Within compartment to L/H and R/H sides the storage area increases at the door aperture area to a height of 650mm ......

4.4.4 The lower section to each side of the storage compartment to be fitted with a drainage port as outlined in section 2.12 ......

4.4.5 Access to front lower deck storage is provided on each side (L/H ...... and R/H) by a marine Osculati and Aperture combination

4.4.6 Each door must be manufactured from a high impact material and to incorporate an aperture seal and two (2) locking handles...... 4 4.4.7 Both doors must be keyed alike......

DOORS

4.5 All doors aperture seals are to be of the hollow D –Rubber type ......

4.5.1 Seals must form a full aperture circumference, no breaks or gaps in door seals is acceptable ......

4.5.2 The lower part of the seal must fall below floor level in order to avoid damage when loading or off-loading and to facilitate drainage......

5 HATCH / DOOR / LIFT / ROLL / STORE EQUIPEMENT

UPPER DECK

5.1 Both upper deck sections must be fitted with a custom made lift, roll and store device ......

5.1.2 A Certified safe working load of 150 kg is required......

5.1.3 Each device shall consist of a rolling machine frame positioned on maintenance free roller bearings......

5.1.4 Machine frame moves through from stored to open position. Whether loaded or unloaded the machine frame should be smooth, light and snag free in its operation......

5.1.5 Machine frame should have an effective stopper to control movement in an outward position and lock easily and securely when stored in position......

5.1.6 Lifting of the payload should be via a 12Volt DC Winch and lifting cable system......

5.1.7 A Winch brake must be provided. The brake must operate in both directions of travel......

5.1.8 The brake must operate in a power off situation......

5.1.9 A frame within the machine frame must be fitted for the accommodation of a Ferno Washington Model 71 basket stretcher or equivalent (To be provided by the end-user ...... department from the RT4/2008ME Contract) and must be able to lift the cadaver into the vehicle.

5.1.10 The lifting system must comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 1993). Driven machinery regulation R18 as amended......

5.1.11 The entire lifting system must be constructed from rust resistant materials......

LOWER DECK

5.2 Within each of the lower deck cadaver compartments the following items are to be incorporated and securely located......

5.2.1 a) 1 x Ferno Washington Model 5 cot fastener or equivalent ...... (Stretcher dependant)...... b) 2 x Stainless steel (grade 316) channels for stretcher location. 5 c) 1 x fold out ramp to assist with the loading and unloading ...... of a self-loading type stretcher. Ramp to lock in an up position and store within the cadaver compartment

d) Storage space for one (1) Ferno Washington Model 26 self- ...... loading stretcher or equivalent or a self-loading mortuary cot.

e) Storage compartments located on each motor vehicle side compartment. Dimensions 590 (Depth) x 220 (Width) x and ...... 450 (Height). Lower section of each of the compartments to be fitted with water drainage ports as outlined in Para 2.12

6. ELECTRICS

6.1 Full auxiliary electrical system to be 12 Volt DC LED type with a minimum individual LED light diameter of 5mm......

6.2 Each locker to be fitted with independently and suitably located LED lights (6 in total). Lights to be sized 120 x 120 x 60 mm and consisting of 28 x 5 white LEDS ......

6.3 2 x Remotely controlled Sastron Go-light motorised spotlights or equivalent, each with 370 degrees rotation and 70 degrees elevation to be fitted on the body roof. One light will be fitted at the right front and the other one at the back left of the body. Each lamp to be protected by a stainless steel rod and mesh ...... cover.

6.4 A Generation 3 LED Lightbar as per the RT4/2008ME Contract specification (AMBER ONLY) is to be fitted to the roof of the ...... vehicle cab with a suitable and compact control unit for all emergency warning lights..

6.5 Rear and side Generation 3 LED warning lights must be mounted on each upper rear body side corner (AMBER ONLY) ......

6.6 Alternating headlight flasher to be fitted......

6.7 All switches to be mounted in a strategically placed central consol with indication lights as regarding activity......

6.8 All individual circuits to be individually fused ......

6.9 All wiring to be correctly gauged, loomed and fitted in trucking......

6.10 A wiring diagram to be supplied......

7. FINISH

EXTERIOR

7.1 The body to be finished in white (same colour as the cab).

i) all primers to be Twin Pack ......

ii) all finishing coats to be Twin Pack......

7.2 The underside of the body is degreased and twin pack Etch priming process shall be coated with a twin pack under body......

7.3 Two rubbing strips are to be fitted to each side of the body. The strips must be fitted in a vertically position on the body 6 approximately 500 mm in from each end of the vehicle. Strips to be a D Rubber with dimensions of 500 x 40 x 60 mm. The strips will prevent damage to the body during loading and ...... unloading of upper deck.

8. ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS

8.1 The completed vehicle must be handed over to the End-User Department with the following documentation: ......

a) Certified weigh bridge certificate stating the total Tare Mass ......

b) Relevant Body Homologation documentation ......

c) Manufactures certificate stating: ......

d) Lifting equipment certification and test report issued in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 ......

8.2 The original load bodies as removed from each vehicle, must be returned to the End-User Department......

8.3 All Bidders must be registered as a Manufacturer, Builder, and Importer of motor vehicles as per the National Road Traffic Act, 1996, Act 93 Section 5......

8.4 All Bidders must be registered as a Vehicle Body Builder with the SABS. ………………………… . All markings of the vehicle are to be as per individual End-User Provincial Department of Health Corporate image.

9. GUARANTEE

9.1 The completed Mortuary body must be guaranteed for three (3) years......

10 Bidders must clearly state dispatch times as regards completion of the contract......
