SSS Advisory Board Minutes Monday, October 10, 2016

Present: Casey Hoffman, Bruce Ouderkirk, Lydia Shields, Katelyn Breheim, Hannah Dolgner, Barbra Vue, Andy Strowig, Stephanie Cisewski, Mainou Vue, Kristin Yang

Reports: • Secretary’s Report: Casey read the last meeting’s minutes, and they were approved.

• Treasurer’s Report: Current balance is $459.72 but will have to reimburse Bruce $85 dollars for apple orchard costs. ($5 X 17 people)

Old Business:

• Apple Orchard: October 8th from noon-2pm: Good turnout, and lots of fun! There were not many apples to pick due to the colder weather, but there were animals, caramel apples, a haunted house, and a corn maze.

• Student organization Renewal- Mandatory conference: Lydia and Stephanie attended the leadership conference on Sunday, October 9th, 1:00pm-6:00pm, so we could remain a student organization. It was very long, but they learned some great information about BluSync and how our organization can sign members in online at future events. New Business:

• Treasurer Position: Megan has resigned her position as treasurer. Katelyn Breheim was appointed as temporary treasurer until elections are held in November.

• Constitution/renewal updates: Stephanie has submitted the constitution for renewal. There are new guidelines that has required us to add a statement about annually updating our Blusynce profile (constitution form, officers, advisor consent form, and membership roster) by October 31st. For future constitution renewals, they would like to create a standardized constitution format for all organizations to follow.

• October Event: Halloween Party- This will be held October 24th after our 6:00 meeting. The party will be held from 7:00-9:00pm in Oak Ridge Hall, Room 15 (in the basement). The SSS Board will provide snacks, so please sign up via BluSync. There will also be a costume contest, so wear your best costume!! Winners will be awarded gift cards from $5-$15 to Caribou Coffee, courtesy of Andy Strowig. Thank you for the donation! There will be Halloween movies and games, so bring either if you have any. Katelyn, Hannah, and Lydia will be in charge of decorations with a budget of $20.

• Fundraising Ideas for the Semester: Burrachos night! Bruce will call to find available dates in November since the October dates available were approaching too quickly with not enough time to plan the event. Open Floor: Think about going on the Minneapolis trip; many more seats need to be filled! Mentoring feedback: Mentors are struggling to set up individual meetings with mentees, but are able to stay in contact with most through Facebook rather than email. HSA is having their egg roll sale October 11th, 12pm-2pm, in Davies.
