Printmaking Grades 10-12 One half credit. Prerequisite: Art 1 with at least a”C”Average. Printmaking is a course designed to provide students with a fundamental understanding of the processes and techniques involved in printmaking. Emphasis will be placed on various techniques, as well as issues specifically related to design and composition.

Sculpture Grades 10-12 One half credit. Prerequisite:Art 1 with at least a “C” Average. Sculpture is a course designed to provide students with a fundamental understanding of the processes, techniques, and design problems encountered in three dimensional art. Students will be presented with specific assignments relating to form. Students will also have the opportunity to explore various materials within the context of each assignment.

Art 2 Advancerd art Grades 10-12. One half credit. Prerequistes:Art 1 with at least a “C” average. Art 2 is a course that builds upon the fundamentals within art 1.Students will have the opportunity to explore various media as well as various techniques related to art making

Ceramics one:beginning handbuilding. Grades 10-12 One half credit. Prerequsites:Art 1 with at least a “C”Average. Ceramics one is a course that is designed to provide students with a fundamental understanding of ceramic design, construction and surface treatment. Emphasis will be placed upon various construction techniques excluding the potter’s wheel. Basics such as proper glazing and firing will be explored in depth. Ceramics 2:advanced handbuilding and introduction to the potters wheel. Grades 10-12. One half credit. Prerequsites:Art 1 with at least a “C” average. Ceramics two is a coarse that builds upon the fundamentals taught within ceramics one. Students will experience guided instruction in wheel throwing, as well as advanced hand building techniques. Emphasis will be placed upon independent self directed exploration of either the potter’s wheel or advanced handbuilding.The class will consist of lectures, demonstrations presentations/critiques. Students will be required to keep a sketchbook which will contain project proposals, working sketches and notes related to classroom discussions.Technichal issues such as firing and surface treatment will also be explored in depth.
