ARC Minis Junior We hope you and your children have had a great summer so far and are looking forward to the new hockey season.

Registration Form Please find attached a Registration form including a Parental Consent form together with the updated Guernsey Hockey LBG (GH LBG) Code of Conduct. The Registration and Parental Consent form must be completed and signed for every child taking part in any hockey coaching run by GH LBG.

ARC Minis Sunday Morning Junior Hockey ARC Sunday Morning hockey is open to all children who attend school from Reception to Year 6. Sessions will take place in groups and on pitches as follows: Clubhouse Pitch (Footes Lane pitch) Reception Year: 09.30 - 10.30 (Parents to remain on site for this group) Year 1 & Year 2: 09.30- 10.45 Year 3 & Year 4: 09.30-10.45 Memorial Field Pitch (next to Robin Roussel pavilion) Year 5 & Year 6: 09.30-10.45

Subscription: £80.00 for the season. Payment can be made either by cheque payable to ‘Guernsey Hockey LBG’ or direct to Guernsey Hockey LBG Junior account. Please use the following bank details to make a direct payment and please remember to add your name as a reference:

Dates: The season starts on Sunday 10th September 2017 and runs until Sunday 25th March 2018 with breaks in line with school holidays. There is no hockey on the first weekend of half terms which are Sundays 22nd October 2017 & 18th February 2018. The last session before Christmas will be on Sunday 17th December 2017 and we re-start after New Year on Sunday 7th January 2018. Guernsey Hockey LBG is a company limited by guarantee. There is a very limited supply so please provide your own. Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions – including long tracksuit bottoms & tops if cold, waterproofs if wet & sun screen if sunny! Please also bring a plastic bottle of water (named) that players can take pitchside and can use during the session to re-hydrate.

Some guidance for Junior Hockey sessions:

Please arrive 15 minutes before your session so that you can register and be ready to play at the start time of the session. Please make sure that all players ‘tick’ their names on the register each week. This is an important part of our Health and Safety consideration.

Ultimately, the children should enjoy the sessions so the coaches will endeavour to make the sessions fun whilst ensuring that the players are in a safe environment. Players can expect to practice their skills and be given the opportunity to play in small competitive game situations. Each age group will have a Lead Coach to whom you can refer should you have any questions regarding the sessions. Information will be posted on the Guernsey Hockey website: www.guernseyhockey.com and on the notice board in the foyer of the Clubhouse.

After the session the players will be able to have their free hot dog and parents must collect their children from the Clubhouse. If there is any change in the pick up arrangements for your child we would be grateful if you could notify the coach or Hockey Development Officer beforehand or at the beginning of the session.

We would also like to remind parents of children in the Reception age group that we expect them to remain on site for the duration of the session.

All parents are welcome to stay and relax in our Clubroom whilst their children are playing hockey. Read your Sunday papers in comfort and take advantage of our excellent facilities.

Children playing on the Memorial Field (MF) pitch will be escorted back to the hockey clubhouse where they can pick up their free hot dog. Parents must pick up from the Clubhouse.

Junior Hockey relies upon the support of volunteers. We really appreciate the time and effort our coaches and assistants put in to make hockey fun for the children and also the assistance of those parents who help out in the clubroom and with the parties. Without volunteers there would be no junior hockey – so a big ‘Thank you’ to everyone. We are always looking for new volunteers so if you would like to volunteer, even if only occasionally, please contact Steve, the Hockey Development Officer at [email protected].

We are currently looking for volunteers to cook hot dogs and serve tea and coffee on a Sunday morning while the children are playing. Please sign up during the first week if you can help. If you can help at the first session, please email Steve.
