SUMMARY. Ask yourself these questions for the summary:
Think about the 6 traits of writing and how you can use these traits in your summary. What kind of summary can I provide of the main points or main characters that will help my readers gauge their interest? Does the author’s writing style reach the intended audience? Will some readers be lost or find the text too easy? What characters are the most important to the progress of the story? What are the one or two points to discuss about the book?
EVALUATION. Ask yourself these questions for your evaluation:
Think about the 6 traits and how you can use these traits in your evaluation. What should I include so that I can critically evaluate the text, not just inform the readers about it. What worked well for me in the book? Suspense? Drama? Emotion? Connections? Learning something new? How does this work compare with others by the same author or other books in the same genre? What major theme/s does this book introduce and how effective are they? Did the book appeal to you on an emotional or logical way? Explain why this is something to consider when choosing to read this book. If the book is missing something what other things might the author have researched or considered to make it better?
