Holo-Spectra Announces New Upgrade of Wizard2000 for Pangolin LD with Price Reduction
VAN NUYS, CA - May 12, 2001 – As part of our ongoing additions to the SpectraScan2000 software suite, Holo-Spectra announces the release of version 2.1 of Wizard2000 (formally BeamWizard) including new features, a significant price reduction, and new package deals. Wizard2000 is a realtime front-end to Pangolin’s LaserShowDesigner line and can run on either the QM32 or PCI QM2000 cards. Essentially, you can playback anything you can make on the Pangolin system and control it faster with more flexibility and ease.
Intended for club environments or corporate presentations requiring a lot of flexibility, Wizard2000 automates the playback of beams, graphic frames, light structures, projector functions, animations, scrolling text, and ShowTime shows and scenes. Organized on a tabbed-form structure, you can instantly move between all the different modes of performance using your keyboard, mouse, MIDI keyboard, or DMX lighting controller. Preset sizes, offsets, and speeds are instantly transitioned for maximum flexibility. Unlike Live!, Wizard2000 is not based on a single show file construction, so it is very easy to quickly click to generate variable-speed chases, random chases, multiple show display, and dynamic frame effects. It is also easy to add content without your user ever having to enter ShowTime.
Here is a partial list of new features. While you could always load 30 shows or scenes, now keys can represent Linked-Shows in which you drag and drop the sequence of shows you desire. As previously, the shows can all have their individual playback settings. Because of our exclusive VirtualShowMemory in which all shows are resident in QM memory, the latency between shows can be very small. This is pronounced with the new QM2000 boards speed and additional memory. Bank Play on the Beam and EffectsFrame tabs allows now 90 assignable keys for each and 30 chases. You can toggle these as well from the MIDI keyboard. Image Overlay allows multi-tracking in which you can add or toggle say a logo over scrolling text or an animation. In addition to our Instant Colored Beam Creation, you can now create Instant Structured Effects like fans and cones. For speed of access, we have added our Text Creation Tool to Wizard2000 with auto-sizing, frame placement, and left/right/center justification. There is also now a built-in RealTime Clock/Calendar with formatting options and the font of your choice. This includes countdowns for New Year’s Eve. Finally, the program has been upgraded to take advantage of many QM2000 improvements and there is complete support for DMX projector control with ready made ILDA projector keys.
Holo-Spectra is offering all this in the new Wizard2000 plus a reduced low price of $485. For laser companies installing in client clubs, we also can offer their own logo on the splash screen and their name on the master window. The preferred playback mode of Wizard2000 especially in clubs is with a 61 key MIDI keyboard with touch (speed) sensitive keys. We offer a bundle of Wizard2000 with such a keyboard from Fatar for $669, much less than a Live! Performer console. Finally, for readers of the Laserist Spring Edition, we offer a free integrated JoyStick to manipulate size, position, and rotation of playing frames. For laserists interested in learning more about Wizard2000, Holo-Spectra suggests visiting the website at http://www.lasershs.com/SS_Software.htm#BeamWizard or downloading the Help File at http://www.lasershs.com/DownLoads/beamwizard.hlp. The Help File includes screen shots and a very good introduction to the capabilities of the program. Pangolin users, who are interested in a limited-time demo of the program, should contact us by email. With enough response, we will post one on the website.
