The Commodore, Flag Officers, Committee and Members wish to take this opportunity to welcome you and provide some general information that may help you to happily integrate into your new club.

Bar Hours Winter: Mon, Tues, Weds & Thurs 4.00 pm - 7.30 pm (April – August) Fri 4.00 pm - 11.00 pm Sat 3.00 pm - 9.00 pm Sun 3.00 pm - 7.30 pm

Bar Hours Public Holidays: 12noon - 9.00 pm

Galley/Restaurant: Note: Bookings are essential for restaurant meals. Fri - Buffet – Jan-Dec 6.00 pm - 8.00 pm Sat – Cafe Menu -Oct - April 11.00am - 1.30pm – Cafe Menu -Oct - April 4.30pm - 7.00pm

Club Dress Regulations: Neat casual clothing is the minimum dress standard within the club, however there are several exceptions as follows: a. On sailing days, sailing clothing & bare feet may be worn until 6.00 pm. b. It is a club tradition that males may NOT wear hats within the club, or it will cost you a Bell Ring! c. If for any reason members need to use the club whilst wearing soiled working clothes then they should use the back bar and vacate the club by 6.00pm. d. Singlet’s are NEVER allowed to be worn in the Club.

1 Members Guests: Members must sign their guests into the club at all times. A visitor’s book is located to the left just inside the lower bar entrance doors for this purpose. Any one guest can only be signed into the club 4 times per year, including the spouse of a member, and a member can only sign in a maximum of 5 persons at any one time. TCYC House Support Scheme: A House Support Scheme operates within the club whereby members are required to purchase a book of $150 house support vouchers, once per year (April), which are redeemable at the Club for Merchandise, Food & Beverages. Club Communications: The club has a fantastic new website, which is continuously updated with information to members. Go to www.tcyc.com.au. If you would like to be included on our email distribution list, please send your email address to [email protected]. The club produces a quarterly newsletter. Flag Officers reports, topical news from club members, forthcoming club functions/events, various sailing information and advertisement can be found in this magazine. Members are welcome to submit appropriate articles for the newsletter. The club produces a sailing programme each sailing season. Sailing instructions/rules, the sailing calendar, the sailing courses and various other information can be found in this programme. The club also subscribes to various sailing magazines, located in the book rack adjacent the trophy cabinet in the lower bar area, and are for the use of all members, but must not be taken from the club premises. Club Events & Functions: Club entertainment which includes Fri night bands/dancing and major club functions are organised for the enjoyment of members and their guests. Members are reminded that bookings are required for the major functions. Additionally, any member can book the upstairs Burgee Room for a private function if they wish. Also, various raffles and promotional schemes are held throughout the year. Mobile Phones: For the convenience of other club users mobile phones may not be used in the club areas. Smoking Areas: The Clubhouse is a non-smoking area within the premises; however smoking is permitted on the grassed area in front of the clubhouse and adjacent to the barbecue area when not in use. Club Committees: The General Committee and various sub-committees meet monthly to ensure the efficient running of the club. The duties of these committees can be found in the club’s Articles of Constitution. Members who wish to contribute and sit on any of these committees should enquire at the club office or see any Flag Officer. Duty Committee Officer: The club provides a duty committee officer for the convenience of members and guests. The duty committee officer is present in the club on the following days: A. On all programmed sailing days. B. On days of other programmed events at the Commodore’s discretion. C. On Friday nights. Club Articles of Constitution: The club’s Articles of Constitution is provided to each new member when submitting an application for membership. Other copies may be obtained from the club office on request. Club Car Park: The club car park is located directly across Val Street from the club main entrance. This car park is club property and is provided only for club members and their guests. Car park stickers are available from the office. Club Hardstand Area: The club hardstand area is provided for the storage, work or repairs and launching and retrieval of (Ordinary) member’s boats. The hardstand area is located on Point Peron Rd, Point Peron. For further details regarding the hardstand area enquires can be made with the Club’s Executive Officer at the hardstand area or at the club office. Club Apparel and Merchandise: The club stocks a range of clothing and other paraphernalia such as polo-shirts, jumpers, caps, ties, carry bags club burgees and more. These items are available for purchase by members from the office, during normal office hours.

Bell Ring: If you ring the bell in the members bar it will cost you two jugs of beer.

Prohibited Anchorage: There are two Prohibited Anchorage areas at the bar, these are serving areas only.

Under 18 years old: Children under the age of 18 years are NOT permitted on the tiled area around the bar.
