Nikki Workman is introducing us to Thomas Van S. Creasap, the grandson of Dr. Thomas and Mary Quilter. Van has worked at Shamrock Vineyard, founded in 1971/bonded in 1984, since he was a young boy - mowing, harvesting and anything else that would keep him busy. Just af- ter graduating high school in 2000 he started working full time while going to OSU full time, getting his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 2004. By his junior year his grandparents' health began to fail and he went from part time employee to full time. For many years Van was the youngest winemaker in Ohio, producing and selling wine to loyal customers even before he could legally drink it himself. In 2003 Van took the reins of the family business, and in 2011 he and his wife Emily became the official owners of Shamrock Vineyard. He prides himself in teaching customers the same values his grandparents had, and is proud to continue the legacy his grandparents worked so hard to create. Still the sole paid employee, Van wears many hats - from working in the vineyard and the cellar, back to the mowing he has done since he was a child.

Outside of Shamrock Vineyard, Van keeps himself busy as an active member of many local groups. He is the acting chair person for the Marion Convention and Visitors Bureau, a found- ing member of the Marion Young Professionals, Marketing Morrow board in Morrow County as well as various other committees.
