MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

We are pleased to announce the formation of “Cortland P.A.I. Dance Company”. This is an opportunity for serious students who are interested in additional performance opportunities, as well as participation in workshops & theatre/dance show trips! We will be forming ‘Senior’, ‘Junior’ & ‘Apprentice’ companies, based on ability (not age). There will be a Parent/Dancer information meeting prior to the auditions.

STAYS SAME: *Parent/Dancer informational meeting: Friday, September 7th @ 4:30-5:30pm

AUDITIONS: CANCELLED: ON SEPT 8TH

RE-SCHEDULED: *Audition for 5th thru 8th graders: Saturday, September 15th @ 1-2:30pm *Audition for 8th thru 12th graders: Saturday, September 8th @ 2:30-4:00pm

REQUIREMENTS: *Dancers must audition every year *Open to Cortland Performing Arts dancers from 5th grade and up *Apprentice & Junior companies must take 4 technique classes per week (two must be ballet classes) *Senior company must take 5 technique classes per week (two must be ballet classes) (*Pointe class counts as a ballet class) *All Company members must maintain good attendance in their technique classes.

REHEARSALS: *Company rehearsals will be held on Saturdays (some may be Friday evenings) *There is NO additional charge for Company rehearsals. *Company members must maintain good attendance in company rehearsals. Excused absences will be handled on a ‘case by case’ basis. We understand that our dancers participate in other shows etc. However, dancers who are overly ‘committed’ to outside projections should consider their availability.

EVENTS: Winterfest performance Community performances Dance conventions National Dance Week NYC Broadway trip Fundraiser Activities (to help defray costs of conventions & trips)

ADDITIONAL COSTS: *Company Warm-up outfit (not mandatory) *Company Leotard (as base for additional costume pieces) *Additional costume pieces (which we intend to keep to a minimal cost) *Convention & trip activities (hopefully we can fundraise for much of this)
