1) Welcome and Introductions Duncan welcomed new members to the meeting and everyone introduced themselves. Thank you to Luisa Foley and The Douay Martyr’s School for hosting the meeting.

2) Minutes from the last meeting These were agreed.

3) Updates:

London Week of Peace Inspector Neil Collin fed back to everyone the activities of London Week of peace that took place in Hillingdon as a partnership between the Council, the Police, HIFN and other community groups. Sunday 9th of September LWOP was incorporated within the Harefield 5K Fun Run Monday 10th September Civic Event and Peace walk. About 100 people walked from the Uxbridge Police station to the Civic centre, led by the Mayor of Hillingdon and Acting Chief Executive alongside representatives from the Metropolitan Police, London Fire Service and the community. African drummers caught the attention of shoppers, passers by and local businesses. Thanks to coca cola, Nandos and Subway for supplying light refreshments. Also thank you to those organisations that provided stalls and displays. Tuesday 11th September Kingsborough Family Church hosted a Youth Partnership breakfast with youth workers, the police and the council’s youth services. This was a positive event and the first step towards looking at the wider inclusion of young people. Thanks to Pastor Tunde and his team for their hospitality. Friday 14th September Hillingdon Borough central Mosque and Community services invited HIFN members to join them for lunchtime prayers held at the lifestyle centre in Hayes.

Sunday 16th September Prayer for Peace in Uxbridge. Hosted by St Margaret’s Church, Uxbridge.

Plans for Week of Peace 2008: it was agreed that a sub- committee for week of peace would be set up and feedback to the wider group.

4) HIFN Action Plan Main areas of activity for 2008 and sub groups will be set up to look at each. 1) Faith Leader Breakfast meetings: Cllr David Routledge has kindly offered to co-ordinate and facilitate these themed meetings. 2) London Week of Peace 2008 – sub –group to be set up. 3) HIFN AGM: executive officers to plan. Discussion Topics

The meeting was divided into 4 groups and discussion took place on the following topics:

Group 1: Staff Training programme Group 2: RAF Uxbridge development Group 3: what should we be doing as HIFN to encourage communities to come together? Group 4: How could we develop a course on understanding different faiths?

Actions for ALL To think of ideas for AGM To identify Faith leaders from their community to participate in the faith leader breakfasts Think about which sub group you would like to get involved with.

5) Any other business Northwood Synagogues will be hosting more events with local schools during as part of Holocaust Memorial Day from 28th January 2008.

Hillingdon Borough central Mosque and community services invited everyone within the network to join them in the breaking of the fast for Ramadan on Saturday 6th October at Minet School from 6.30pm
