VIRGINIA DISTRICT KIDZ & POWER CAMP Camp Information Encourage your church to pray that the camps will be life changing for the children. Enclosed is all the information necessary for your church to prepare for Children’s Summer Camps this year.

CAMP INFO: KIDZ Camp (for grades 1 - 3) is July 7-10 POWER Camp (grades 4 - 6) is July 13-17

NOTES: Rooms at KIDZ Camp are assigned according to grades. Children must have finished first grade to be eligible for KIDZ Camp. Children who have completed fourth grade may choose between KIDZ and POWER Camp. Children who have completed sixth grade may choose between POWER Camp and Middle / Sr. High Camp.

STAFF: Staff application deadline is May 28 (firm). The Camp Council requests that each church send one counselor per eight campers and provide equal representation for girls and boys.

REGISTRATION: Local churches must send registrations and accompanying forms to Pastor Heidi Ellis, (address is on Group Registration and Camper Registration Forms). Registration forms must meet postmark deadlines listed below.  KIDZ Camp - before June 5- $190/ after June 5 - $215  POWER Camp - before June 5 - $235/after June 5 - $260  Camper shirts included in this price.  Staff shirts available for $12.00 each  Registration deadline June 15 for both camps  Workers under 15 with parents $130.00 per person  Workers 15 and up no charge  Church may add additional fees for transportation

To streamline the pre-registration process, individual churches must fill out a Group Registration form for each camp and return them with all camper registrations, photos, medical forms, and pre- registration fees attached by dates above for (early-bird) and/or dates above for (late registration). Make sure everyone sends a wallet-size photo with his or her application.

On-site check-in will be at Wesley Chapel. Only one adult representative needs to check-in your group. They should have a copy of your Group Registration and the total balance due ready. Please note that during registration, children will not be permitted in the registration building. Children may play on the playground outside.

ARRIVAL: All STAFF must report to the Thompson Family Life Center at the appointed time (see below). Registration starts at 11:30 AM. The gym will be open and supervised for children who must accompany staff. Lunch served at 12:15 AM.

Please Note Important Details

KIDZ Camp for grades 1-3 begins on Tuesday and goes through Friday. The Monday before KIDZ Camp will be for training and setup. We will offer a training session at 7:00 PM that day. We encourage KIDZ Camp counselors to arrive on Monday. We will not be able to receive campers on Monday. Please arrange for campers to arrive on Tuesday. Staff unable to attend the training session on Monday must attend the staff meeting at 9:00 AM on Tuesday morning. This meeting is essential.

POWER Camp for children grades 4-6 begins on Monday and concludes on Friday. All staff must arrive Monday morning and are required to attend the Staff meeting on Monday at 9:00 AM. Check-in for campers is 11:30 AM on Monday.

Online training will be available after your application is confirmed.

Camp concludes with a Camper Award Ceremony at 9:45 A.M. on Friday for both Camps. Camper departure will be 10:30 A.M.

Security Procedures:

 Campers must be supervised on the playground during registration  Campers planning to leave early must have an attached letter on their application giving time and date their parents plan to check them out from camp. The parents or guardian must check camper out at the Camp office (Located near the girls dorm)  Visiting Parents or Guardians are required to show proper identification to Camp Director or one of Assistant Directors. We welcome visits from parents and guardians and pastors, but they must check in before visiting their children.  All camp visitors MUST check in with the Camp Director before interacting with the campers.  At checkout all luggage will be located at the Tabernacle. Campers must report to their counselor before leaving the Tabernacle.  Each vehicle must stop at the checkout point when departing the campground.  Security will ask the driver of each vehicle to show drivers license and give names of each camper in the vehicle. Security will record the license number and vehicle tag number. Please be patient during this process. Thank You!
