3-D Art Teacher: Ceramics and Sculpture

The Archer School for Girls is seeking a skilled full-time ceramics and sculpture teacher beginning August 2017. The ideal candidate has a BFA or MFA, teaching experience, and a passion for cultivating creativity in 21st century learners. Interested candidates should have extensive knowledge in 3D processes and the flexibility to teach multiple levels 6-12th grades. Specific sculpture skills should include expertise in teaching the potter’s wheel, hand building, and ceramics along with sculpting with materials such as plaster, wood, and metal. Knowledge of maker’s tools such as laser cutters and 3D printers is a plus. A desire to collaborate with colleagues and a commitment to encouraging the potential in every student is essential. A minimum of 2-5 years teaching experience is required.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to teaching five courses, studio management including firing kilns, serving as an advisor, and participating in extra-curricular school activities.
