Seamless Yellow Baby Sweater Dress

Pattern Instructions Skill level: Intermediate

Size: 12 - 24 months.

Finished Chest: 21 inches (54 cm)

Finished Length: 14 ½ inches (37 cm)

Gauge: 31 rows x 20 sts = 4"x4" in Stockinette sts with US#4 (3.5 mm) needle.

Suggested Yarn: Category 4 Medium Worsted Weight

Yarn I used: 100% Cotton Lily Sugar’n Cream Yellow Color (approx. 137m, 150 yds), Lily Sugar’n Cream White Color (approx. 137m, 150 yds).

Materials: One pair of 3.25 mm [US#3] needles, one pair of 3.5mm [US#4] needles, one set of 3.5mm [US #4] Double pointed needles, Stitch markers, Stitch holders or waste yarns, Cable needle, Yarn needle, 5 small buttons.

Abbreviations & Method: K=Knit; P=Purl; YO=Yarn Over; K2tog=Knit two together; P2tog=Purl two together; C4F=Cable 4 front=Put 2 stitches on your cable needle and hold in front of your work, knit the next 2 stitches and then knit the two from your cable needle; C4B=Cable 4 back=Put 2 stitches on your cable needle and hold in back of your work, knit the next 2 stitches and then knit the two from your cable needle; Pfb= Purl the front of a stitch, then purl the back of the same stitch; PM=place marker; SM=slip marker; mm = millimeters; m=meters; yds=yards; sts = stitches.

Start here.

With US #3 (3.25mm) needle, cast on 84 sts with Yellow Color yarn.

Neck Line (Garter sts)

Row 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8: Knit through the row. Row 4: Knit to last 4 sts., end with K1, YO, K2tog, K1. (1st button hole.)

Divide for body and sleeves.

Row 9: (WS) With US #4 (3.5mm) needle, change yarn white color and K4(button band), P12(left front), PM, P14(left sleeve), PM, P24(back), PM, P14(right sleeve), PM, P12(right front), K4(button band).

Row 41:(WS) Repeat Row 11.

Row 42:(RS) Divide for body and sleeves. Work 31 sts as established for left front, place next 47 sts on a holder, work next 56 sts as established for back, place next 47 sts on second holder and work remaining 31 sts for right front. (118 sts remains on the needle).

Sleeves

Pick up stitches of one sleeve plus 2 sts from cast-on underarms (to avoid any gap) on 3 double pointed needles (US #4) evenly. Tie yellow color yarn at underarm and work garter stitch 8 rows in the round and Bind off. Securely sew small buttons to avoid choking hazard.
