JOB16050 - Principal.doc About Ochoa Community Magnet School Ochoa Community Magnet School is a First Choice Reggio-inspired Elementary School. In our Pre-K through Grade Five, Ochoa School Community children and adults are committed to creating a learning community that values caring relationships, inquiry and innovation, creativity and a democratic way of life. We are inspired by the values and practices of the Reggio Emilia approach to learning. The Reggio approach is symbolized by the metaphor that children have a "hundred languages" for learning. This metaphor suggests that there are many ways to represent and communicate theories and understanding of life and the world. These are connected and relevant to who we are and what we believe. Inclusive in our vision of the `many languages for learning' is all curricular area content (language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, music, movement, art, etc.).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Master's Degree in Educational Administration, or closely related field Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card. Arizona Principal Certificate with Structured English Immersion (SEI) endorsement (Arizona Department of Education (ADE) may allow one (1) year from date of certificate issuance for out-of-state applicants to complete their SEI requirements.) Three years teaching experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience as a Principal/Assistant Principal English/Spanish Bilingual Demonstrated background/experience in school leadership including supervision/management and/or team work. Experience developing and managing budgets Experience developing student specific interventions, curriculum and instruction, special education and language acquisition programs. Experience assessing teacher efforts to include, engage, and support students from diverse racial, ethnic, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds using culturally responsive pedagogy. Experience creating school conditions, processes, and practices that support learning for racially, ethnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse students. Experience using classroom and school-level data to improve student outcomes, target interventions, and perform self-monitoring. Experience completing, implementing, and monitoring the school level implementation of District professional development. Experience engaging students utilizing culturally responsive pedagogy. Experience with behavioral and discipline systems (including Restorative Practices, Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports). Experience recording, collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data to monitor student academic and behavioral progress. Experience building and fostering professional learning communities (“PLCs”) among teachers.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization
