I-405 Construction Updates in Bellevue Sept. 14 – 21

BELLEVUE – Next week, crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will continue repairing pavement on northbound I-405 in South Bellevue and restoring the Kelsey Creek Park wetland. Crews will also remove lighting, relocate a sewer line and other utilities, and install temporary barriers.

Construction closures affecting I-405 drivers in Bellevue the week of Sept. 14 – 21 include:

I-405 Mainline

• Sunday through Thursday nights, crews will close up to three northbound I-405 lanes from I-90 to the Wilburton Tunnel for pavement repair. The first lane will close at 8 p.m. nightly, with up to three lanes closed by 11 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. each following morning. • Monday through Thursday nights, crews will close one southbound lane on I-405 from Main Street to the I-90 overpass from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each following morning for survey work. • Monday through Wednesday nights, crews will close one lane in each direction from 112th Ave SE to Coal Creek Parkway to clean sewer lines. Crews will close one northbound lane from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., and one southbound lane from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each following morning. • Monday through Thursday nights, the Washington State Patrol (WSP) may perform multiple twenty minute rolling slowdowns on northbound I-405 near I- 90. Between midnight and 4 a.m., the WSP will slow traffic down while crews repair pavement. Drivers should anticipate extra travel time or take alternate routes. • Monday through Thursday nights, crews will close one southbound lane from Main Street to the Wilburton Tunnel from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each following morning for survey work. • Tuesday through Thursday nights, crews will close up to three lanes of northbound I-405 from Coal Creek Parkway to I-90 to shift traffic for construction. The first lane will close at 8 p.m., with up to three lanes closed by 11 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. each following morning. • Monday through Thursday nights, crews will close one southbound lane near the exit to Coal Creek Parkway from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. to clean sewer lines. I-405/I-90 Interchange

• Monday through Thursday nights, crews will close one lane of the southbound I- 405 on-ramp to westbound I-90 from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. each following morning to move a temporary attenuator (crash cushion) and temporary barriers.

I-405/Coal Creek Parkway Interchange

• Monday through Thursday nights, crews will close the left lane of the southbound I-405 off-ramp to Coal Creek Parkway and one eastbound lane on the Parkway under the I-405 bridge from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each following morning to relocate a sewer line.
