After every Mass the weekends of May 9th & 10th as well as May 16th & 17th, our council will be selling raffle tickets to help support the Seminarians from the Diocese of Trenton. The proceeds will help defer the costs that each seminarian faces while pursuing their vocation in the Seminary. The cost of these tickets is $10 each, with the prize being a vacation voucher valued at $5,000. We are looking for volunteers to help sell the tickets before and after each Mass on those weekends. Please email [email protected] to volunteer.

Catholic Colleges and law schools can claim 66 alumni in the House of Representatives or 15% of the entire House. The Cardinal Newman Society has found that more than half of the Catholic College alumni, 39 in total have a 100% rating from the NARAL – National Abortion Rights League and Planned Parenthood.
Religious and Civil Liberties Director – Dave Lyzinski:
The USCCB asks that we call (202-224-3121) or write our Members of Congress and ask them to protect religious freedom in the District of Columbia: http://lil.ms/pig/!j5lcd .
Brother Knights go to the NJ Catholic Conference website, http://wwwnjcathconf.com/ , click the faith in action button and generate an e mail to the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee and the Assembly Budget Committee asking committee members to Keep the Opportunity Scholarship program ihn the budget. The scholarship program would provide scholarships to poor students.
There are new rules pending that would require religious charities to refer immigrant children for abortion. The USCCB believes these rules can be moderated to avoid such an impact. See http://www.usccb.org/news/2015/15- 031.cfm .
Lastly Brothers, continue to pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters in the Middle East.
Developmental Disabilities Drive Chairman – Stuart Altschuler
Our Annual drive for people with Developmental Disabilities takes place this year on Friday 6/5 through Sunday 6/7. This is a fun and rewarding activity that simply involves (1) wearing a yellow apron advertising the drive, (2) holding a blue can into which people make their donations and, (3) handing all donors a Tootsie Roll as a thank you. I have personally experienced a number of people who have blessed the work that we do while I’ve been collecting. We need volunteers for the following times:
Friday 6/5, for 2 hour shifts from 9 am – 3 pm Saturday 6/6, for 2 hour shifts from 9 am – 3 pm After all the Masses on Saturday and Sunday 6/6 and 6/7
Please call Stuart Altschuler at 856-383-6961 or e mail me at [email protected] if you can help for any of these times!
