As a result of this year’s efforts, the Ruckers were able to 31 offer seven scholarships of five hundred dollars each to Pelion 32 High students, for a total of $3,500; and 33 34 Whereas, funds in excess of forty thousand dollars have been 35 awarded to worthy Lisa Rucker Memorial Scholarship recipients at 36 Pelion High School, and that amount increases yearly with various 37 fundraisers; and 38 39 Whereas, family members Tony Rucker, who is Lisa Rucker’s 40 brother, and Lynn Rucker are in charge of the scholarship for the 41 family; and 42

[5480] 2 1 Whereas, appreciative of the Ruckers’ sponsorship of the Lisa 2 Rucker Memorial Scholarship, the House extends grateful thanks 3 to the entire Rucker family. May God bless you for your labor of 4 love, which has benefited so many through the years. Now, 5 therefore, 6 7 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: 8 9 That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, 10 by this resolution, congratulate the Rucker family of Rucker Farms 11 in Pelion on the many deserving young people they have assisted 12 through their dedicated sponsorship of the Lisa Rucker Memorial 13 Scholarship, awarded annually to students at Pelion High School. 14 15 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to 16 Tony Rucker and Lynn Rucker for the family. 17 XX 18
