Dr. Mark Krenz Is the Founding and Lead Pastor of ONE Community Church, a Church for People

BIO

Dr. Mark Krenz is the founding and lead pastor of ONE Community Church, a church for people who don’t like church (www.discoverONE.net) in San Tan Valley, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix. Mark with his wife Shannon launched ONE in January 2007. Since its inception ONE has worshipped in various venues like an outdoor saloon, a golf course, a sports bar, and two different schools.

Beyond his church ministry Mark is a church planting coach and consultant, an adjunct professor for Mid-America Christian University teaching courses in Pastoral Leadership, and serving on various boards for churches or local organizations. Locally, Mark is a member of the San Tan Valley Think Tank and involved with the YMCA where he also coaches soccer.

Mark and Shannon have been married since 1999 and have four young daughters. Mark and Shannon love to travel and cruise. For fun Mark loves to play sports, especially soccer, football, and volleyball. He’s a huge World Cup soccer fan where he cheers on his native Germany and the USA.

Mark was born (Oct 15, 1972) in Germany, but grew up in Sterling Heights, Michigan where he graduated from Adlai Stevenson High School. He studied at Wayne State University on a presidential scholarship, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and pre-law. Before starting law school Mark spent a year in Germany at the Fritzlar Bible School where his future changed course.

Returning to America to prepare for pastoral ministry at Anderson University School of Theology Mark earned his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry. While in seminary Mark was a Juvenile Probation Officer before becoming youth pastor at South Meridian Church of God where he served for nine years leading a growing student ministry. During that time Mark also taught a youth ministry class at the School of Theology. In 2006 Mark and his family “parachuted” into Arizona to start ONE Community Church. updated 9.2012
