Camp T-shirt: Camp T-shirt must be worn every day when coming to camp and on all trips OR campers may wear Gruvy Wear UV Protective Wear with camp Logo (see attached brochure). This is a safety issue not a fashion issue and no exceptions will be made. Extra and replacement shirts are available in the Camp Office. Campers will receive 2 free shirts. Extra t- shirts are available to purchase for $5 each.

Things to Bring: Bring a lunch, beverage and afternoon snack everyday in a labeled plastic bag to be placed in the camp coolers. It is important that campers wear sun block everyday and pack extra to apply during the day. Campers can also bring a hat and sunglasses for outside activities. Campers must wear closed toed shoes. They may pack in their bags flip-flops/ water shoes on water park trip days but cannot wear them to camp for bus safety issues.

Things not to Bring: Do not bring spending money unless it is specified in the trip schedule. Counselors cannot hold money for campers. We do not visit gift shops or food stands unless it is part of the trip schedule. Do not bring valuables such as a video games, jewelry or toys from home. We are not responsible for these items if brought to camp. No sneakers with wheels are allowed at camp.

Things to do: Please encourage your children to drink water at home to help keep them hydrated during the days. We highly recommend that campers wear surf shirt/ rash guards on days we attend water parks to help protect against sunburn. PLEASE SEE ENCLOSED GRUVY WEAR BROCHURE . Also, be sure your child has sunscreen applied by you at home before coming to camp and/or has sunscreen with them to reapply. Refer to the camp schedule for special items that are needed on non-trip days and trip days such as bathing suits and towels.

2 Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures:

Drop Off:

Regular: between 8:45 and 9:00am Before care: 7:30am-9:00am

Parents must bring campers to the Donahue School, which is located at 200 Bengal Blvd., between 8:45 and 9:00am for curbside drop. Late campers must be escorted into the school by an adult and signed in. Pick Up:

Regular: 3:00pm After Care: 3:00pm-6:00pm ***Trip days will vary

***Refer to your camp schedule for pick-up times on trip days as they can vary.

At pick-up time, parents/guardians/caregivers must come into the school to sign out their child with the counselors. ID is required. Counselors will verify they are on the Pick-up Authorization sheet before release of campers. Please be patient during this process as the safety of your child is our first priority. No child are given to anyone not on the Pick-up Authorization sheet. If someone is picking up your child and is not on the pick-up authorization sheet, you must add them prior to them picking up your child and they must show ID.

The following are a few camp guidelines to ensure a safe and happy summer:

1. Counselors will contact you by phone prior to the start of camp to let you know your camper’s group and introduce themselves to you.

2. Everything you send your child to camp with should be clearly marked with their name.

3. Extra camp T-shirts are available $5 each and on sale week 2.

4. Changes to your child’s schedule, messages to the camp counselors and/or any other non-emergency communication should done in writing and delivered via your child. 3 Week 1

Tuesday, July 5 - First day of Camp; Campers must wear closed toed shoes. We will be spending the first week of camp playing getting to know you games, handing out camp T-shirts, and going over camp rules, regulations, and procedures. Campers and staff will get acquainted with each other through games and fun activities. Bring lunch and snack.

Wednesday, July 6 - Campers will continue getting acquainted with one another and the staff. We will practice bus evacuation drills and conducting our swim test at Barnegat Bay Beach. Campers must pack a towel and sunscreen, wear closed toed shoes, and wear a bathing suit under their clothing. Water shoes cannot be worn, but if desired, brought and put on once we arrive at the bay beach. Bring lunch and snack.

Thursday, July 7 - Campers will continue getting acquainted with one another and the staff. We will practice bus evacuation drills and conducting our swim test at Barnegat Bay Beach. Campers must pack a towel and sunscreen, wear closed toed shoes, and wear a bathing suit under their clothing. Water shoes cannot be worn, but if desired, brought and put on once we arrive at the bay beach. Bring lunch and snack.

Friday, July 8 - Campers will spend part of the day at Project Playground. Campers who still need to be swim tested will head to Barnegat Bay Beach for testing. Activities will focus on Building Friendships. Campers must pack a towel and sunscreen, wear closed toed shoes, and wear a bathing suit under their clothing. Water shoes cannot be worn, but if desired, brought and put on once we arrive at the bay beach. Bring lunch and snack.

4 Week 2

Monday, July 11 - Trip Day: ***PICK UP AT 3PM*** Campers will spend the day at Winding River Skating Center where campers will enjoy an *arctic blast* with indoor ice skating! Ice Skates are provided, but don’t forget to wear socks! You must have socks in order to skate. The socks should be at least calf high, not ankle. We recommend you bring or wear long pants or long sleeved shirt. You may also want to bring gloves. Wear your closed toed shoes and camp shirt and Campers bring lunch and snack for the ride home. Campers can bring $5 - $10 for snacks.

Tuesday, July 12 - Regular Camp Day - campers will participate in various activities: Inside games, field sport games, crafts. Bring lunch and snack.

Wednesday, July 13 - Free Choice Day - Campers are allowed to make three choices to schedule a portion of his or her day. Stations will be set up for the campers; each will be explained to the campers before they make their choices. Stations may include, but are not limited to art, sports, games, science, drama, or kitchen activities. Different counselors will run stations each week. Bring lunch and snack.

Thursday, July 14 - Trip Day: ***PICK UP AT 4:45PM***Campers will enjoy the day at Splash Zone-Wildwood. This water park offers a variety of ways to get wet and keep cool. Visit the website www.splash-zone.com for a fun preview. Bring a towel and sunscreen. Wear bathing suit under your clothes.. Bring your lunch and beverage. Bring a snack for the ride home. Campers can bring $5 - $10 for snacks.

Friday, July 15 - Special Event Day- Improv Theatre Workshop - Led by Toby Sweeney, your child will explore the creative world of dramatics in this Drama Workshop. Focused on trust, expression and truth, children will work both independently and as a group to explore creative and personal ideas through improvisation and movement. After learning and practicing certain acting, comedic, dramatic and improvisation skills, children will enjoy rehearsing original scenes. The theme for this creative dramatic workshop is "What is Community?” Your child will enjoy a fun and engaging experience and learn through the drama they create and view. Bring lunch and snack.

5 Week 3

Monday, July 18 - Trip Day: *** PICK UP AT 5:30PM***Campers will enjoy a day at Breakwater Beach Water Park Seaside Heights www.casinopiernj.com/breakwaterbeach. Campers will spend the day getting wet with waterslides, a splash park, waterfall, and lots more! Campers must wear bathing suit, closed toed shoes, their camp shirt and bring a towel and sunscreen. Campers bring lunch. Bring a snack for the ride home. Campers can bring $5 - $10 for snacks.

Tuesday, July 19 – Regular Camp Day - campers will participate in various activities: Inside games, field sport games, crafts.

Wednesday, July 20 - Free Choice Day - Campers will make three choices to schedule a portion of his or her day. Stations will be set up for the campers; each is explained to the campers before they make their choices. Stations may include, but are not limited to art, sports, games, science, drama, or kitchen activities. Different counselors will run stations each week.

Thursday, July 21 - Trip Day ***PICK UP AT 3:45PM *** Campers will spend the day at Thundering Surf. Thundering Surf is a water park with a lazy river and water slides for all ages. Campers will be able to try the Flow Rider if they wish. Wear your bathing suit under your clothes and bring sunscreen and a towel. Bring your lunch and beverage for a picnic on the bayside beach. Campers can bring $4 - $6 for snacks

Friday, July 22 - Special Event Day – Crazy Camp Car Wash - “THE CRAZY CAMP CAR WASH” is here for the day. All campers will be participating in the car wash throughout the day. Wear your bathing suits under your clothes, bring a towel, and bring your water shoes or extra pair of sneakers that can get wet, and sunscreen. Bring a big sponge and or an OLD towel (one that you don’t want back) that can be used for the car wash.

6 Week 4

Monday, July 25 - Trip Day; *** PICK UP AT 3:00pm*** Half of the day campers will go to the Thunderbird Lanes Bowling Alley in Manahawkin. All campers must wear socks to participate!! The other half of the day will be spent at camp. Bring your lunch and beverage.

Tuesday, July 26 - Regular Camp Day- campers will participate in various activities: Inside games, field sport games, crafts.

Wednesday, July 27 - Free Choice Day - Campers will make three choices to schedule a portion of his or her day. Stations will be set up for the campers; each is explained to the campers before they make their choices. Stations may include, but are not limited to art, sports, games, science, drama, or kitchen activities. Different counselors will run stations each week.

Thursday, July 28 - Trip Day: ***PICK UP AT 4:15PM*** Campers will travel to the Funplex, Mt. Laurel for unlimited access to outside and inside activities and unlimited Splash Park. Campers must wear bathing suit, closed toed shoes, their camp shirt and bring a towel and sunscreen. Campers can play mini-golf, ride bumper boats, Go-carts, Laser-tag, and many other activities. Campers bring lunch and a snack for the ride home.

Friday, July 29- Special Event Day – Joel Rappelfelds’s Kids on Wheels - Campers are outfitted with inline skates and full protective gear and given professional skate instructions for a day of amazing interactive rolling fun! Bring your lunch and beverage.

7 Week 5

Monday, August 1 - Trip Day ***PICK UP AT 3:45PM *** Campers will spend the day at Thundering Surf. Thundering Surf is a water park with a lazy river and water slides for all ages. They now have the Flow Rider. Wear your bathing suit under your clothes and bring sunscreen and a towel. Bring your lunch and beverage for a picnic on the bayside beach. Campers can bring $4-$6 for snacks

Thursday, August 4 – Trip Day: ***PICK UP AT 4PM*** Campers will enjoy a day at Sahara Sam’s Oasis, an indoor water park!! Parents/Guardians must sign the Flow Rider waiver if your camper is going to try it. (Please read the waiver details) Campers will spend the day tubing down the water slides, rafting, and much more! Visit the website at http://www.saharasams.com to find out more about their attractions. Pack your lunch, bring a snack for the ride home, and wear your bathing suit under your clothes. Don’t forget your towel!

Friday, August 5 - Special Event Day – The Ultimate Human Board Game - Team Building and Sportsmanship at its best!!! Teams will compete as they roll the dice, move around the board and compete for the points that each activity are worth. Each space involves up to 30 campers at a time. It’s a non stop action, with great music, fun activities, a lot of laughter and fantastic spirit. Get your game on!!!

8 Week 6

Thursday, August 11 - Trip Day: ***PICK UP AT 445PM*** Campers will enjoy a day at Casino Pier Amusement Rides, Seaside Heights. On this trip, campers will have unlimited access to all of the amusement park rides! Campers will enjoy pizza for lunch, and all campers are provided with a $10 card to use in the arcade. Be sure to wear closed toe shoes and sunscreen! Recommend bringing a water spray bottle to help stay cool, sunglasses, and a water bottle to drink. Bring a snack for the ride home.

Friday, August 12 – Special Event Day – Spinning Bees: Gary Auerbach “The Frisbee Guy” - He used to be a classical ballet dancer, English as a Second Language teacher, and a waiter. Gary Auerbach began leading Spinning Bees Clinics in Canada, the United States and Europe after he won 1st place in the Frisbee Freestyle Players Association Championship in 1995. Gary wants kids to rediscover the Frisbee sport.

These sessions will introduce kids to Frisbee-games in the hopes they grow to love the sport and develop lifelong skills in throwing, catching and handling the plastic disc. The program gives young people an activity they can do for the rest of their lives and to encourage them to be active for the rest of their lives.

Friday August 19 – END OF CAMP PARTY: There will be fun activities planned for campers. Campers will spend the day celebrating their summer and remembering their favorite moments. This is the final day of camp for all campers attending Camp Funtime 2011 we will continue saying our good byes in-group activities.
