AUDIO ASSIGNMENT #1

Here are instructions on “how to record using GarageBand & iTunes”

1. Open the Finder - in your Dock is looks like 2.2. Find Find Garage Garage Band Band (it’s (it’s in in Applications Applications or or on on your Dock) your Dock) 3. the circle with a red dot in the center is the record button the SPACE BAR on your keyboard stops the recording the RETURN key on your keyboard goes back to the beginning DELETE on your keyboard erases the recording

8. Turn up your volume 9. Record yourself saying something like “this class rocks” a. click the “record button” b. click the “space bar” c. click “return key” 10. In the top menu bar select SHARE and dropdown to Send Podcast to iTunes If iTunes opens – quit it and quit Garage Band also

Open Finder and follow this path: Finder > Student > Music > iTunes > iTunes Music > Student (or it may be your name) > Student’s album (or it may be yourlastname album > lastname-practice.m4a (this will be the recording your just made and it will begin with your last name)

Open a 2nd Finder window (command N) and connect to Virtual Share then follow this path: Virtual Share > clshelhorse > Classes > Foundations… (your block) > until you see Dropbox and the kids in your class

drag your audio file lastname-practice.m4a TIFF QuickTime™(Uncompressed) and decompressora are needed to see this picture. from your iTunes album over top of the word

Dropbox and let go (you might get a message

about not being allowed to see the file – that’s OK!

Record yourself (as instructed, see the rubric in the = A block box below) and put it into the class Dropbox = B block = D block = E block = F block Remember to save this as “lastname-audio1” = H block ex. smith-audio1 or jonesb-audio1
