Lake Lansing Parks Rabger Duties

LAKE LANSING PARKS - RANGER DUTIES NOTE REGARDING WATERCRAFT ON LAKE LANSING SOUTH: All water craft (including canoes, sailboards, boats, etc.) landing or being launched at Lake Lansing Park-South, must use the area directly north of the pedal boat dock. All watercraft must have coast guard approved life jackets on board for each occupant of the craft. Any watercraft being launched or landed at Lake Lansing Park-South must be hand-carried between the water and the parking lot. No gas engine craft may be launched.

A. Opening Ranger Duties: 1. Lock open "IN" gate upon entering LLS. 2. Punch in. 3. Turn on park radio and keep on your person at all times. 4. Pick up reservation forms. 5. Unlock doors and turn on lights in beach house restroom. 6. Do the daily check on all park vehicles. 7. Lock open LLS exit gate. 8. Go to Boat Launch. a. Lock open gates and record car count. b. Open and clean restrooms. 9. Go to LLN. a. Lock open gates and record car counts. b. Open and clean both restrooms. c. Pick up litter in entire park. 10. Go to Boat Launch and pick up litter. 11. Return to LLS: a. Open walk-thru gate. b. Record car count. c. Open and clean picnic area restrooms. d. Pick up litter and dump barrels. e. Clean grills at LLS, LLN and Boat Launch f. At 7:30 check in Community Service workers and assign them work. g. Check WORK LIST for other projects. B. Time Study - Opening Ranger 4:30 AM - 5:00 AM: Check vehicles, open Boat Launch, and record car count. 5:01 AM - 5:15 AM: Clean Boat Launch restroom. 5:16 AM - 5:40 AM: Open LLN, clean Snell restroom and record car count. 5:41 AM - 6:05 AM: Clean LLN White restroom. 6:06 AM - 7:06 AM: Pick up trash at LLN and Boat Launch. 7:07 AM - 7:30 AM: Open all gates at LLS and record car counts. 7:31 AM - 7:45 AM: Check in volunteer workers at Lake Lansing Park- South and assign work. 7:46 AM - 10:15 AM: Clean shelters and grills at LLN and LLS. Clean picnic area restroom at LLS. 10:16 AM- End of Shift: Pick up trash at LLS and perform other duties as assigned.

C. Afternoon/Closing Ranger Duties: 1. Trim mow as assigned. 2. String trim as assigned. 3. Tractor mow as assigned. 4. Clean restrooms. 5. Pick up litter; dump barrels. 6. Fuel trucks and fill extra gas cans. 7. Wash trucks. 8. Pre-clean shelter. 9 Control traffic on busy days. 10. Assist on maintenance projects and equipment repair. 11. Assist on construction projects. 12. Other duties as assigned. 13. Turn off radio and plug into designated charger.
