SUBJ: Officials Workshop in October 2012
An Officials Workshop is scheduled for October 26-28 at the Marriott Savannah Riverfront, Savannah, GA. The hotel is located at 100 General McIntosh Blvd and the phone number is (912) 233-7722. The workshop will allow officials from across the United States to gather in a group environment and be challenged with a presentation of ideals and philosophies. The format will include individual presentations, small group interactive discussions and large group discussions.
Each LSC may send a maximum of two persons to the meeting. Individuals who attend should be first time participants and have been a referee no more than 2-3 years. It is also recommended that no LSC Officials Chairs attend this workshop.
Each LSC is asked to provide transportation to the meeting. USA Swimming will provide housing (two persons per room, two double beds) for the nights of October 26 and 27, meals and per diem for meals that are not provided and all informational materials for the meeting. If someone prefers to have his/her own room, enter the credit card information on the enclosed reservation form or make a check payable to “USA Swimming” in the amount of $120 ($60 per night) and include payment with the reservation form.
The Marriott Savannah Riverfront is connected to world-famous River Street via the Riverwalk. The hotel does not provide transportation to and from the Savannah airport, which is a distance of about 10 miles. However, you can make prearranged reservations through Airport K Shuttle at a cost of $30 round trip. USA Swimming will add $30 to the per diem you receive to cover round trip cost of the shuttle service. Information about the shuttle service and nearby attractions will be provided nearer to the date of the workshop. When you check into the hotel, your room and tax are on a master account for USA Swimming. Any incidentals will be your responsibility.
Registration and a dinner reception provided by USA Swimming will begin at 6:00 pm on Friday, October 26. At that time, you will receive your registration supplies. This will be an excellent opportunity for you to meet and talk with other LSC Officials. If you have guests with you, they are also welcome to attend the reception.
The meeting will conclude by 11:00 am on Sunday. A detailed agenda will be sent prior to the meeting.
Please complete and return the enclosed reservation form before the deadline date of September 17.
If we have not heard from your LSC by the deadline date of September 17, we will assume that your LSC does not intend to send anyone to the clinic.
