Purpose: to identify the author’s feelings, or voice, about what he or she is writing; this can then be used to more completely understand that author’s attitude and intended meaning about that text

 Read pages 300 – 302

 Do Exercise 1 (301-302)

 Vocabulary Unit 4 – Read pages 325 – 328, and do exercises 2 and 3 on notebook paper. Do the Crossword Puzzle (331) for 3 extra credit points.

2. Media Center Presentations: April, Rayna, Blayne, Andre, and Jashe

 Read “Superstitions Help Us Cope” (442 – 443); answer the Fact/Opinion, Multiple Choice, True/False and Vocabulary in Context Questions (444 – 446) on notebook paper

3. Vocabulary Unit 5: Read pages 366 – 369 and do Exercises 1 and 2 on pages 369 to 370 on notebook paper. Also, do the Crossword on page 371 for extra credit.
