A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Margie Alexander Eaton. With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Margie Alexander Eaton, and we pause in silent reverence for her soul. WHEREAS, Margie Alexander Eaton was born on March 22, 1913, to the late Sam and Lucy Aaron, and traversed these earthly bounds on March 16, 2000; and WHEREAS, Margie Alexander Eaton received Christ in her life as her personal Savior at an early age, and joined the Mount Zion Baptist Church in Keys Heights, Alabama; and WHEREAS, Margie Alexander Eaton was united in marriage to the later Luther Alexander in 1940 and became a faithful and active member of the First Baptist Church in Lynch, Kentucky, until physical health prevented her continued contributions; and WHEREAS, Margie Alexander Eaton distinguished herself as a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Pilgrim Rest Chapter #95, The Court of Calanthes, and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP); and WHEREAS, Margie Alexander Eaton was united in marriage to the late Leavy Eaton in 1967; and WHEREAS, Margie Alexander Eaton was loved by those with whom she worked and by her family and friends, having brought forth good fruits unto the Lord as a mother and for those who needed spiritual guidance; and WHEREAS, Margie Alexander Eaton leaves her children to cherish her memory, Michael, Ernestine, Homer, Estelle, Sandra, Lucinda, Lavonia, Bobby, Edna, Gwen, Lois, and Charles; one sister, Lelia; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and WHEREAS, the passing of Margie Alexander Eaton has left a void that will be difficult to fill, and she is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth; NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: Section 1. This honorable body does hereby express its profound sense of bereavement and loss upon the passing of Margie Alexander Eaton, and extends to her family and friends its most heartfelt sympathy. Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Margie Alexander Eaton. Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mr. Michael Alexander, Office of the Governor, Kentucky State Capitol, 700 Capitol Avenue, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.
