UMCOR is in need of Health and School Kits

“Kits help sustain everyday life for people who lack ready access to essential supplies. They provide vital support for UMCOR’s global development work and make a tangible difference in people’s lives.”*

UMCOR stocks 6 varieties of relief-supply kits that come from generous donors nation wide. At this time they are asking for Health and School kits.

“In some countries, children don't have books or school supplies. Many have no schoolrooms; classes are held in inadequate or half-destroyed buildings, tents, or even the open air. School kits may be these children's only educational resources.” *

CUMC has started collecting supplies for Health and School kits. Sturdy Cloth bags are also requested for the School Kits and several have been sewn and donated. Please bring donations to church and put them in containers outside the church office or in the social hall Supply lists and sewing directions can be found in the Social Hall and outside the church office. In addition, lists and videos for sewing school bags are available on the UMCOR website. We will assemble what we have collected before sending them on in November to UMCOR who will distribute them wherever they are needed in the US or internationally.
