Hello, this is Kathryn Hutchinson, principal of Joyner Elementary school calling with your weekly message. This message will be posted on our website.

The final week of the Kids giving to JDRF wrapped up in a huge success. Thank you to everyone for bringing in your change. We do not have final numbers but want to express a HUGE thank you for giving back to kids.

We have a teacher workday this Monday, tomorrow. No school for students on October 26, tomorrow.

Our lost and found has grown enormously with the cooler weather. All items will be in the front lobby this week to claim. At the end of the week, whatever is left will be cleaned and donated. Be sure to stop by this week if you are missing any items.

The reflections art contest is coming to an end. This is a wonderful opportunity to allow your children to flex their creative muscles and share their artist side. Take the opportunity to design art for this competition. All art must be submitted by Friday to the PTA.

The Year book Contest will also end this week. Remember to turn in artwork for this competition by Friday. Art must be done in the portrait direction to be considered. The staff looks forward to voting for our favorite covers for this year’s yearbook.

Finally, the Wake County Magnet Fair is coming soon. All 5th grade parents, be sure to consider stopping by the Magnet Fair on Saturday November 7th at Southeast Raleigh High School. Middle school seems far away but the application process is sooner than you think.
