Volunteer Position Stadium Field and Grounds Maintenance Assistant Park Central Broward Regional Park Cricket Events (Stadium and Fields) 3700 N.W. 11th Place Lauderhill, FL 33311 954-357-5400 [email protected] Park hours: 7:30 a.m. 8 p.m. Description of work involved In the initial stage the work will be to help construct the cricket batting cage area building frames, installing artificial turf, leveling clay and stones, installing poles and netting. To help maintain the fields, grounds, cricket square, and batting cage area, work will entail mowing grass, string trimming, weeding; helping prepare the cricket wicket by rolling and marking the area; repairing the netting. Volunteer will also serve as a grounds crew member during cricket matches, moving tarps and cleaning up the stadium. Hours volunteers can work During the week and weekends, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., at least three hours each time. Hours before, during, and after an event at the stadium. Level of difficulty 3 or 4, some 5. 1=easy 5=physically demanding Skills required Ability to work outdoors in a variety of temperatures/weather conditions. Ability to do physical labor, lift up to 50 pounds, push a heavy roller and mower. Must be trained by park staff for use of equipment. Ability to work with park staff and other volunteers. One-time volunteers should complete the Workday Volunteer Application. Orientation/Training Volunteers must attend an initial training with staff. Restrictions Volunteers must be attentive and follow all park safety and operational procedures and directives. Volunteers will use all personal protection equipment required to perform safely and effectively. Extra comments Event could be any sporting event.
