Memorial Jr. High School Morning Announcements

Good morning Memorial Student and Staff. Today is Monday, February 22nd. Please stand for the pledge. I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all. Thank you, you may be seated.

Congratulations to our Students of the week: Brooklyn Bryant, Helena Reeves, Alex Hull, Alonna Green, Brianna Kalan, Amiya Weaver, Nyere Grant, Victoria Semler, Abby Schneider, Shardae Massingill, Jessyka Camandillo, Jocelyn Moores, Sophie Fatica, Demarcus Holt, Shamiya Woodruff, Charlotte Hantus, Alexis Moore, Arielle Poole, Araya Lewis, Marina Hess, and Jocelyn Moores.

Math tutoring with Mr. Francis is cancelled until Friday. Students should report to their regular study hall or IE class this week.

The Book Club will meet in the library today after school.

ANY 7TH GRADE STUDENT WHO HAS NOT TURNED IN THEIR YELLOW FORECASTING SHEET NEEDS TO TURN IT IN TODAY EVEN IF YOU DON'T HAVE A PARENT SIGNATURE. ALL SHEETS ARE DUE TO MRS. JOHNSON TODAY.

Attention all Memorial Junior High 7th and 8th graders. Do you have a great singing voice and love to dance? Have you heard how much fun we have here in Electric Youth show choir? If so, this week is your chance to audition and become a member for the rest of the school year. Auditions will be held tomorrow, February 23 and Friday February 26 in the choir room from 4:30-5:30. Pick one day to audition and make sure you have someone to pick you up at 5:30. You must be there for the full hour. See you there!

Memorial Yearbooks are on sale now through March 7th! See your homeroom teacher or Ms. Morgan in Room 120 if you did not receive an order form. Order forms and cash, check or money order for $18.00 is due by March 7th. Hurry and get your order in soon!

Memorial Jr. High is proud of our school and would like to have spirt wear. Help spread the ARCS spirit and support our PTA by wearing our custom t-shirt or hoodie! The t-shirt design will be printed on a brown t-shirt or hoodie with the yellow ARCS logo. Also for an additional fee of .50 per letter you can have your name printed on the back of the t-shirt. To purchase, please fill in the order form available in the student center and return it by February 19, 2016. We’ll accept money orders and checks for the items. Please make checks payable to Memorial Jr High School PTA. PARENTS show your support and pride and order a shirt too. Help us meet our goal of 150 t-shirts!! Students are to keep the following items in their secured locker: Gloves, hats, heavy coats, scarves, all bags including book bags and shoe bags, electronic devices and accessories. There is no need for any of these items during the school day.

Students the expectation is that cell phones are turned off and secured in your lockers. The administrators & security will confiscate any cell phone and must be picked up by a parent. Teachers will not permit students to utilize cell phones, ear buds, or chargers in their class. All technology access must be through laptops, chrome books, or computer.

PBIS is BACK. MARCH 18th. We will have Volleyball, Basketball, GIANT 4 SQUARE, and a HUGE obstacle course. See your Student Council Representative for more details. Requirements for participation and attendance are: No F’s for 3rd. quarter, No OSS between January 27 & March 18, and no more than 2 referrals dated January 27 thru March 18. Stay tuned for more information on this great event!

In celebration of Black History month, we salute George Washington Carver who became a leader in agriculture in the country by convincing farmers to rotate their crops, and finding over 300uses for the peanut, including the invention of peanut butter.

The word of the day is: Cardinal directions. Definition: The cardinal directions are north, south, east, and west.

Students are expected to only go to your lockers at the beginning of the day, at lunch, and at the end of the school day.
