Destination: Chislehurst Common. Approximate total distance (including return trip) : 15 miles Route Information: Mid range ride consisting of manly minor roads, some busy roads and a few cycle routes most with uphill gradient on way to Chislehurst. One hill in Chislehurst has an uphill gradient of 12% which can be ridden or alternatively walked in 5 to 10 minutes. Takes approx. 1hr. 30min – 2hrs to reach Chislehurst common.

Directions/Route:  Turn right out of Canadian Avenue in to Catford Road, turn left in to Halfords Car park and head under the footbridge to Ladywell.  At Ladywell Fields go along to Malyons Road, turn left in to Weraside Road and follow road around to traffic lights into Courthill Rd.  At mini roundabout turn left. At next mini roundabout bear right.  At bottom Dermondy Rd turn right into Leahurst Rd.  Follow road pass school to T junction. Turn right into Manor Lane.  Continue under railway bridge & pass industrial estate..  Turn left into Holme Lacey Rd. At T junction turn right into Burnt Ash Hill (may need to dismount and cross at pelican crossing if busy).  At traffic light continue straight on along Burnt Ash Road.  Turn Left at Winn Rd.  At mini roundabout at bottom of hill turn right into Mottingham Lane. Continue to end.  At roundabout (petrol station on left) go straight into Court Farm Road (cycle route 21).  Over cross road. At end T junction left into Castlecombe Rd.  At cross road, right into Beaconsfield Rd (cycle route61).  At end of road use short cycle lane to cut through onto Elmstead Lane.  Use cycle lane on right. At end dismount and cross road.  Continue under railway bridge. Turn left into Sundridge Avenue.  Bear left into Yester Rd and take immediate right into Lubbock Rd (keep left on Rd).  At T junction with Old Hill turn left. This hill has an uphill gradient of 12% those wishing to ride up must wait at top for remainder of group to walk up!)  At top of hill is a mini roundabout. Follow Prince Imperial Road to junction with High St. There is a dirt track that is suitable for all cycles, if dry, that can be used to cut out half of Prince Imperial Road.  At junction of High Street turn left.  After appox . 100 yards dismount, cross road for 30 minute rest by pond next to Queens Head pub. There is also a cafe almost opposite. Return Route.

 Continue down high St to traffic lights. Turn left into willow Grove.  Travel up hill. Turn right into Walden Rd.  At end turn right into Elmstead Lane.  Use cycle lane/unmade path by woodland to cut back across into Beaconsfield Rd.  Continue all the way down Beaconsfield Rd (straight across all cross roads).  Bear left at junction with Portland Rd.  At end turn left into Dorset Rd.  At cross road turn right into Court Farm Road.  At roundabout straight across into Mottingham Lane.  At mini roundabout left up hill, Winn Rd. Right at end, Burnt Ash Road.  Straight across traffic lights.  Turn left into Holme Lacey Rd.  Turn right into Manor Lane.  Left Leahurst Rd.  Left into Emmesdale Road. Straight over cross road for final uphill section.  At T junction, right into Hither Green Lane.  Enjoy the final down hill section to traffic lights.  Dismount and push back or ride following one way route.
