General Information: ACCA is a non-profit agency that has served the Fairbanks community since 1956. It began with a grassroots community effort to assist people needing orthopedic referrals and equipment as well as speech therapy. The agency was known as ‘Alaska Crippled Children and Adults’ and was associated with the Easter Seals Society. In 1998, the agency adopted a new name, ‘Alaska Center for Children and Adults’. Over the years, programs for individuals with disabilities have grown with the Fairbanks community.

Infant Learning Program: The Infant Learning Program provides services that helps babies and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities. Early intervention focuses on helping eligible babies and toddlers learn the basic and brand-new skills that typically develop during the first three years of life.

Early Childhood Mental Health Project: Kimadelia Leff, LCSW

Training and supervision for mental health professionals. Consultation for childcare programs regarding social and emotion concerns in children. One-to-one consultation for families of children experiencing social and emotional concerns.

FRA Family Services provides flexible, ongoing support services designed around the needs of a child, youth or an adult with an intellectual and developmental disability (IDD), children with complex medical conditions (CCMC) and adults with a physical and developmental disability (APDD). Their services are accompanied by a wealth of family/ caregiver supports, respite care, plus opportunities for education and access to needed resources.

FRA Senior Services offers home and community-based services to adults with Alzheimer’s disease or age-related dementia, and seniors experiencing frail or disabling conditions. Their comprehensive range of services is designed for those who can no longer manage independently. Additionally, FRA provides support to caregivers that include time-off from caregiving duties while knowing that their loved one or friend is receiving needed care services. Their goal is to maximize independence and allow seniors and older adults to remain in the comfort of their home for as long as possible while lessening the stress of caregiving.
