This quiet Village, also referred to as the “Namaqualand” of the West Coast, with its traditional lime washed houses, is set against a breathtaking coastline with rocky out crops and sandy bays with a cobalt ocean.
Jacobsbaai is ideally situated for excursions throughout the Cape region. The cosmopolitan city of Cape Town, Cape Town International Airport, the Cape Wine Lands, the West Coast National Park, the West Coast Flower Region and many other attractions, are all within easy travelling distance from Jacobsbaai.
Apartments
1 Our House has been transformed into 3 stunning apartments with safe and secure parking.
We unfortunately do not allow children under the age of 14, pets or smoking in our apartments.
1. Bryde's Whale (Sleeps 4)
The BRYDE'S WHALE is our luxury 4 sleeper apartment and features 2 luxury bedrooms with king size beds, each with their own en-suite bathroom. The bathrooms have pentagonal showers, modern baths, heated towel rails, double basins/vanities and toilets.
This apartment also features a fully equipped modern kitchen with a dishwasher.
Lounge with TV, DSTV, mini Hi Fi, DVD / Dining area, opening onto a large veranda with patio furniture and an outdoor barbeque.
Decorated in natural shades, the apartment exudes a sense of peace and extreme comfort.
The bedrooms are tastefully furnished, with down duvets and 100% cotton percale linen.
Bath towels and hairdryers supplied (please bring your own beach towels).
Electronic safe provided.
Fully equipped communal Laundry on premises.
2. Humpback Whale (Sleeps 4)
2 The HUMPBACK WHALE, which is our luxury penthouse (loft) apartment, is ideally suited to a couple seeking more space and comfort and can also be rented by a family of 4 (regrettably only children over the age of 14).
This apartment features 2 bedrooms, the master bedroom has a king size bed and the second bedroom has twin beds. There is one en-suite bathroom, with a pentagonal shower, modern bath, heated towel rails, basin/vanity and toilet.
This apartment also features a fully equipped modern kitchen with a dishwasher.
Lounge with TV, DSTV, mini Hi Fi, DVD and a separate dining room with an indoor barbeque / fire place.
The lounge opens onto a sea facing balcony, with patio furniture and an outdoor portable barbeque (Weber).
Decorated in natural shades, the apartment exudes a sense of peace and extreme comfort.
The bedrooms are tastefully furnished, with down duvets and 100% cotton percale linen.
Bath towels and hairdryers supplied (please bring your own beach towels).

3. Southern Right Whale (Sleeps 2)
The SOUTHERN RIGHT WHALE is our smaller 2 sleeper apartment. This ground floor apartment has one luxury bedroom with a queen size bed, en-suite bathroom with a pentagonal shower, heated towel rails, basin/vanity and toilet.
This apartment also features a fully equipped modern kitchen with a dishwasher.
Open plan lounge with TV, DSTV, mini Hi Fi, DVD / dining room with an indoor barbeque / fire place.
The lounge opens onto a sea facing patio, with patio furniture and an outdoor portable barbeque (Weber).
Decorated in natural shades, the apartment exudes a sense of peace and extreme comfort.
The bedrooms are tastefully furnished, with down duvets and 100% cotton percale linen.

A minimum of two nights stay is required for bookings during the year and six nights from December 25 - 31.
Servicing before and after departure is included. Daily servicing is available on request at R50 per apartment from Mondays to Fridays. Please note that we do not provide a cleaning service on Public Holidays and Sundays. Wages @ time and a half are payable on Saturdays and double rates are payable between Christmas and New Year. Please advise when booking.
Meals can also be arranged at your request. Arrangements for this can be made on arrival.
Our property can either be rented completely, sleeping with ease 10 persons, or can be rented as per one of the above mentioned options.
5 Jacobsbaai
Jacobsbaai is a lifestyle more than a town.
From the early 1800's, a company called Stefan Bros were conducting trade between the West Coast and Cape Town. Very often farmers became indebted to them and they would take 99 year leases on some farm next to the coast as payment. This meant that they could refuse landing rights to any other traders that wanted to trade on these shores.
Around 1990, an employee at the deeds offices did a search and saw that the 99 year lease for the land at Jacobsbaai had expired, and that the land had once again become available. A property developer, Kuron Holdings, was brought in and the town was started.
Jacobsbaai is halfway between Vredenburg and Saldanha. It is a rather isolated, traditional West Coast Village with strict building restrictions, the result of which is breathtaking. 2km of Coastline with rocky and sandy bays and lime washed houses against a cobalt ocean.
Long walks on the beach, crayfish catching, fishing, whale watching and pure relaxation can only be achieved in a place of such beauty.
Activities:
Our central location is ideal for fascinating day trips to everything that the West Coast has on offer, such as its great natural unspoilt beauty with its rugged coastline, quaint fishing villages, wine estates and nature reserves. There are numerous hiking trails, bay cruises, fishing charters, water sports, including kayaking, whale watching, horse riding centres and a choice of three golf courses, Club Mykonos and Casino, numerous indoor and outdoor restaurants and in season, the World renowned Namaqualand wild flowers.
Or you can just relax, take long walks on the beach and sip endless cocktails as you watch a spectacular sunset over the Atlantic Ocean!
6 General:
1. Remember to stock-up on route!
Vredenburg is the closest town to Jacobsbaai (approximately 12km), where you can buy your groceries and other necessities.
As you will most likely be passing through Vredenburg on route to Jacobsbaai on a Friday afternoon, look out for the fishermen selling fresh Snoek, in Saldanha Road, opposite the OK Bazaars. This fresh fish is certainly the best in town!
The Pick ‘n Pay in Vredenburg is very well stocked (Tel 022 715 1080 for directions). Trading hours: Mon – Fri: 08h00 – 19h00; Sat: 08h00 – 17h00 and Sun: 08h00 – 14h00).
The Bottle Store is also located in the same centre as the Pick ‘n Pay.
There is also a small well stocked farm store in Jacob’s Bay that sells all the basic groceries. (Trading hours 09h00 – 21h00)
2. Emergency Services
Vredenburg has a Private Hospital, Doctors and Pharmacies in case of emergencies.
