This Is the Checklist I Use for N201UT (1977 M20J)

This is the checklist I use for N201UT (1977 M20J).

I assemble these 4 pages into two double-sided cards. Put page 1 (Initial Preflight) and page 3 (Runup) back-to-back and laminate. Do the same with page 2 (Before Starting Engine) and page 4 (Emergencies). I punch a hole about 3/4" down from the top center, and put a 1" ring through it to hold the 2 cards together. This ring hangs nicely on a hook that's in my airplane on the windshield frame between the front window and the pilot's left window.

I organized the cards this way so that after I'm done with the preflight & passenger brief I just flip whole the 2-card stack over (keep the cards together, don't flip around the ring) and go right to the Before Starting Engine checks. After the Taxi check is complete, I need to flip the pages around the ring and then I just hang It on the hook. Now everything I need for normal flight is in font of me. In the event of an emergency, I just flip the 2-card stack over for emergency procedures. This is hard to explain in writing, but if you follow these instructions you should see what I'm talking about.

Here's a picture of how it looks when I have it all put together:

Swallow or yawn as we climb & descend  Questions (now or in-flight). No talking during takeoff and landing  Seatbelts at all times. No smoking.  If there’s anything I do with the air- plane that makes you uncomfortable, let me know right away.  If you feel queasy tell me right away, look outside, nearest vent. Location of airsickness bags.

Inside Plane  Don’t touch the anything without asking! If seat slips on takeoff, don't grab the yoke. Rudders.  Vents (location & operation)  Intercom is voice activated. I do checklists aloud.  Radio callsign. Stop talking during incoming radio traffic. Hand up.  Door – you control it & don't slam it  Emergency Exit procedure (through door).
