Executive Director

We are searching for an Executive Director for the Ashbourne, a 110 suite assisted living facility, located in the Garneau Community across from the University of Alberta Hospital. The residents consist of 1/3 independent living, 1/3 Designated Supportive Living (DAL) and 1/3 receiving home care.

About the Ashbourne The Ashbourne was founded by members of the Garneau United Church who identified a need for an assisted living facility in the community. It is owned by Garneau United Assisted Living Place, a registered charitable, not for profit corporation.

The Position: The Board does not envision this new position as full time. The final time commitment will be developed by the Board and the Executive Director. The start date is expected to be March 1, 2013 but is negotiable. The Executive Director is responsible for the overall strategic, operational and day to day management.

The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors of the Garneau United Assisted Living Place (GUALP). The Board of Directors of GUALP is a policy governing board.

There is a General Manager that reports to the Executive Director.

The key responsibilities are listed below however the priorities will be jointly established by the Board and the Executive Director: Policy management Risk management Strategic planning Leadership/governance Advocacy Program management Personnel management Financial Management

Education and Knowledge: Required - experience in the management of a senior housing facility, management of staff and accountability for business operations. A University degree in a relevant field or education/experience that would be considered equivalent

The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience and education.
